  1. Good news at least...just take it easy, Tommy...the bass can wait.
  2. Good wishes coming your way, pal.
  3. @bassmedic46 - MY BROTHER! I'm the same way....get skunked, but keep trying. BTW - like the town as I was born and raised in Worcester...Athol was a favorite biking destination when I was a kid.
  4. I'm the same - wait for a good sale, or wait for ALF's rebate sale...I've also bought used - two of my Victorys. Far as technique specific - I think only my pitch/punch rig and my crank rigs are that specific....and even those could be used for other things. I may like variety, but my wallet keeps screaming too much.
  5. - Jigs - 17# Straight Flouro, unless I'm punching or pitching into heavy cover - then it's 50# Braid to 15# YZH - Chatterbaits - 10# YZH - Cranks - Straight Flouro - 8#-12# depending on the cranking rig - Top water - 12# YZH
  6. 15# is too light for use on a casting reel, even just reeling in a lure can cause dig-in at that small diameter.. 30# is as light as I'll go on casting gear. Remember, 15# braid is the same diameter as 4# mono - would you put 4# mono on a casting rig?
  7. These are the ones I've been using from Reaction Tackle...decent quality as a couple are 5 years old and still in good condition. Various sizes and colors available. $12-$15 for a pair depending on style. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B088GNYFRC/?coliid=I3CLX42K3PT1XS&colid=3M9MGOWZE9YW2&ref_=list_c_wl_lv_ov_lig_dp_it&th=1&psc=1
  8. ^ As Gim said, it's a couple months away for me...but Suspending Jerk worked slow Weightless Fluke Shakey Head I'll probably have some others rigged up - but those three will be my starting point.
  9. Cox ended today in 48th place....meanwhile, I've got one in the top 10 and another just outside 20th...so I'm pretty happy - though The Llama needs to get in gear.
  10. Which unit is it connected to - the GT-56 is the updated transducer...it sends/receives a clearer signal than the GT-54. Livescope is an add-on and will replace your transducer and add a black-box that processes the data and sends it to the screen via an Ethernet connection.
  11. With the hook up, and using a cylinder weight, it should just slide over the brush like it slides through weeds.
  12. With a 1 behind and 3 in front of the stem, I've always used my forefinger to feather line when casting with my spinning reels. Great job passing on good techniques, Sean....keep it going.
  13. Good thoughts and wishes, Tommy - hoping it is just a blockage and not the Big 'C'...keep us updated, my friend.
  14. Green - all the way.
  15. Again we're dealing with this pseudo-science that's been proven to be inaccurate and banned from use in court situations. When are the tournaments going to join the 21st century and give up this practice of believing something that lies itself?
  16. Dunno if it'll last, but Spring is definitely making an early visit. Snow is almost gone from my yard, temps in the 40s and 50s for the foreseeable future and the ice is getting thinner on the lakes. Had a truck fall through near me just the other day and the Sheriffs Dept has put out a warning. Can't wait for open water.
  17. Set the SV up as the main with it's transducer, connect the CV as the add-on....it'll still get data from the SV transducer, but won't show Side-Scan images as the hardware/software in it can't interpret that...so Chirp and Downscan is all you'll see - like it was using it's normal transducer.
  18. Was shorebound this past year - so finesse was the name of the game. 1/16oz to 1/8oz Shakey head with a Zoom Finesse Worm got most of my bass...and a few crappie as well.
  19. Keeping you in my thoughts, Tommy - here's to a successful procedure and a quick recover so you can get back out chasing those Cajun Bass.
  20. Yep - I personally rate the MH/F as more of a MF-F...not quite a true MF, but slower than an F. Which is why my 7'0" Aird-X MH/F is my spinner/chatter rod.
  21. Six year old thread reincarnated - OP hasn't even signed on since Sept 2018.
  22. 73cv can indeed connect to a 93sv...all you need is an Ethernet cable if your 93sv has the port....this is the backside view of the 73cv taken from https://www.garmin.com/en-US/p/690355 - circled in red is the Ethernet port.
  23. Seviin IS St Croix - it's the name they use for their reels to differentiate them from their rods.
  24. I do most of my purchasing online, but my research local. Scheels and Fleet Farm carry pretty much anything the USDM market has Waypoint (about 1 mile from me by road) is a local JDM haven...I think he's gonna give HookUp some serious competition. Unfortunately, my budget insists on saving as much as possible, so new gear is usually in the lower-middle levels (Tatula 100s/Lews Tournament MP, Victory(on sale)/Mojo/Black Bass) I usually stop in to Waypoint just to drool a bit....
  25. Welcome - a native Worcersterite here who hasn't been back since a quick trip in 2003 "I may grow old, but I refuse to grow up."
