  1. Only report I could find says that there's 16" of ice still on Minnetonka...of course that varies depending on where on the lake you are. Some errands yesterday had me passing Black Lake which had no anglers on the ice, and a pretty wide open spot by the channel to Spring Park Bay.
  2. Irish cooked cabbage is NOT sauerkraut...that's a German dish. I've had corned beef w/cabbage....not something I'd want every day, but not bad.
  3. 100% agreement here - just point me at the Potato Sausage; and don't forget the Lefsa with butter and cinnamon sugar on the side.
  4. It's like everything else - use to get ice cream in 5qt 'pails'....now it's only 4qts but a higher price - inflation at work.
  5. Like the others have said - fill it to about 1/8" of the spool rim...about where it starts to turn towards the top edge. Light lures, I can cast 25-30 yards with just a flick of the wrist on my light spinning rigs.
  6. Considering that I still have two Aird-X rods in my lineup next to the Victorys and Mojo Bass'....I'll double down on that - Aird-X is an excellent rod and fishes way above it's price-point. Just note that they are not true Fasts in my experience...more of an MF-F - my 7'0" Aird-X MH/F is an excellent spinner/chatter rod.
  7. I don't care what it says really - St Croix rod I have for finesse is a 7'3" ML/XF...this is a length/power/action that's available in the Black Bass through Physyx lines - so 'well suited' for Bass...but mine says 'Panfish' on it....who cares.
  8. I could go pick it up - but sometimes I'm just lazy and don't want the 1/2hr each way drive...so have them mail it. 3 days if the order isn't in by 1pm, 2 days if it is.
  9. I got it on a special that got me a $25 gift card and the following - so basically got Pro for nothing. • Strike King 3.5" Baby Z-Too Soft Jerkbait • Strike King Rage Scounbug 3 1/2" • Strike King Hybrid Hunter 3" • Strike King KVD Perfect Plastics Filler Worm 6" • Strike King Tungsten Thunder Cricket 3/8 oz • Strike King Homing Minnow Swimbait 3" 1/4oz • Strike King KVD Popping Perch • Strike King Baby Rage Menace Grub 3"
  10. If it has 'Googan' or the private label of any of the members - I steer clear of it.
  11. 6'1/2" - 1/2 Swedish (both grandfathers), 1/4 German (paternal grandmother), 1/4 Finish (maternal grandmother)....we have my sister to thank for tracking down immigration records on our 'greats'
  12. Reason I buy my spinners JDM...why Daiwa and Shimano think that us Americans want all high-speed spinning reels I don't know. The Shimanos I get from Digitaka are all in the 26-29 IPT range instead of the 34+IPT of the 'HG (high gear)' reels that are what's available here.
  13. I've started minor maintenance on my bass reels - the panfish reels have been ready for a couple weeks now. After maintenance will be re-spooling.
  14. Nope - because the action of a Strike King Rage Craw is different from that of a Zoom Z-Craw despite them looking similar. Sometimes it's that difference that triggers a bite.
  15. We're still trying to get rid of winter here - Tuesday Night Snow likely, possibly mixed with rain, becoming all snow after 4am. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 33. North northeast wind around 15 mph, with gusts as high as 30 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New snow accumulation of less than one inch possible.
  16. Original bag or replacement laminated bag- then those in either 3607-10 or 3707 open compartment boxes.
  17. Just MN - I don't have the opportunity to fish other states despite WI being fairly close.
  18. I'm still sticking with Mighty Max - Home Depot and now Menards carry them, so getting warranty support isn't an issue either.
  19. One of the winter things I do when going over Bass Trek is all the electrical...including my Edge 45.
  20. I can't understand why they'd only do it if it's cancerous....it's a health issue, they should work on it. Personally, I'd pick Baton Rogue - it's closer - and see if they can get you into Ochsner...it's the #1 rated hospital in LA.
  21. ^ Layering is something we up north learn early - especially for those days that start cold and end up warm.
  22. Looks like you had a fun time of it though - and Hank seemed to enjoy it as well. That pic of you and Keri with Bill, Jimmy and Hank still blows me away though....
  23. It's a tough road you travel, my friend, and I can sympathize. Nora has been bed-bound for 2 years now, but the state provides payment for a PCA to come in and provide personal care to give me some breaks. We have a wonderful gal now who we've even become good friends with...and her 4 kids (ages 9-15) call us 'Nana' and 'Papa'. Stay strong, give Lynn our love.
  24. Latest project - still in process. What's left to do is build the steering assembly, mount the handle, route controls and electrical and build the coupler ball support...but at least it's recognizable as a dolly now - or what will become one.
