The craw makes a great bottom hopper on a free-rig or shaky head. The 1/10oz tiny lipless cranks are killer for panfish 😁
  2. Through the 13th, Omnia has 20% off site-wide with code 'MAY20' (normal exclusions apply - Megabass, Daiwa, St. Croix, etc)
  3. Sounds like a fun time. I took the eldest adoptive granddaughter (15yo) out yesterday after she got off school. It was chilly on the shore, but was a fun two hours for us both. Only one fish, a 13" largemouth, but she got all excited about it. We're planning another trip this coming Friday - when it'll be warmer,
  4. Hit it right on the nose - same frame, spool, main gears....just the T-Wing system and a pair of bearings in the crank handles is the difference.
  5. Best wishes for a great outcome.
  6. Regs say 'Block' lettering - nothing about color "• Letters and numbers must be of a block character" https://files.dnr.state.mn.us/rlp/regulations/boatwater/boatingguide.pdf Pg 8
  7. Personally - I'd rather be safe than sorry....it's not THAT expensive to replace the sticker.
  8. I like to have the capacity sticker - so when I was rebuilding Bass Trek I ordered a new one. Just fill in the info from your current sticker when ordering. https://www.amazon.com/Engraved-HIN-Manufacture-Watercraft-Fishing/dp/B088GZ2551
  9. The Aird-X rods from my experience are more a Mod-Fast than a true Fast - that can contribute to the 'noodle' feeling...and yes, I have that exact rod in my back-up arsenal.
  10. Motor should list what it wants for a minimum - I'd get something rated 20% more ( CCA or MCA) above that. To play it safe most outboards want between 200 and 300 - so a 500 CCA/MCA would cover you just fine. my 25hp Envirude wants a minimum of 375 - so I dropped a 500MCA into the boat.
  11. Things have been a little nuts lately - I'm sure you've read about that....but that doesn't mean the end of the projects. The dolly continues on track - and I finished the electrical this morning, so here it is.
  12. Trailer comes off and I check it...if it seems reusable, then into it's original bag it goes. I never leave plastics on lures.
  13. For rings that small, I pull the Xuron's out of my general tool box Xuron split ring pliers
  14. Wait - some people are still not using backing? I get 3 'fills' from a 200yd spool of InvizX.
  15. InvizX is my go-to for FC - Tatsu is out of my price-range and haven't spooled up the Sniper I got yet. (16 days until bass are once again legal to target here)
  16. Al started it back in the 70's, I still preach it - Selective Harvest for the win all around.
  17. GT-56 is the better transducer, but the UHD-2 is the better base-unit. I'm questioning why they're selling in those pairings - logically it'd be the UHD with the GT-54 and the UHD-2 with the GT-56
  18. And with the hospital stay - I missed getting my selections in for this (wails!!!)
  19. It's just marketing - there's no big difference really between that and Trilene/Siege/Elite/name-your-favorite-mono. Minor differences will get you to have a favorite, but in the end it's all Nylon Monofilament.
  20. Simple Green for the win - I use it to clean everything around the house.
  21. Where-as I went one more Cranking - that's all it does House - runs lights, pumps, sonar, etc TM - that's all IT does. That way I can run the sonar/livewell until the battery conks out and still be able to start my motor. Course the 25 DOES have recoil backup
  22. Well, round one of the chemo is done - and I got no side effects (so far). Ate the regular stuff I always have and my stomach didn't even twinge. Now a 3 week wait for round 2. Because of where this invader is sitting, I'm finding myself short of breath for small exertions...so now I gotta take it slow. And this all comes on the heels of something I'd already decided to do. Nora's PCA is a single mom of 4 kids ranging from 9 to 15. Nora and I have kinda adopted them and they're all calling us 'Papa Ken' and 'Mama Nora' (short for grand-pa/grand-ma) They don't have much in the way of positive older folks around - dad is a laze about, grand-mother 1 is a hypocondriac who uses way too much medical marijuana, uncle is just plain mean most of the time and the other grandparents are gone....so, time to give these kids - whose mom busts her arse taking care of Nora - the type of role-models they need as well as skills and tools suited to their abilities and desires...something mom has tried to do, but just can't do it alone. I got a year - I think Nora and I can make a difference
  23. Drop that figure by 6-8 .months, and I won't have a period of 'normal activity ' where I can help Nora get all our ducks lined up
  24. That's Cali, Tom....we don't have restrictions like that here as you should know from your LotW visits
