Good thoughts needed
My experience with Mayo turned me off to them...long story short, they screwed up the oder for radiation seeds to treat my eye...I left and had the eye pulled And should have thought stronger.... Diagnosis: small cell carcinoma, metastasized from lungs to pancreas and brain Treatment: chemo for the lungs/pancreas followed by targeted radiation for the brain Immediate prognosis: will shrink chest/abdomen areas, 3-6 month remission where I'll feel semi normal, then it comes back Long term: 14-16 months on average before it does me in Further updates later....Nora and I have to process.

Good thoughts needed
Well, I'm home again - but it's only for overnight. Mass in chest is a tumor pressing against my SVC, and a MRI followed by a PET found a couple spots on my brain. On Monday the ER of hospital #1 said my preferred hospital was full up - so sent me to hospital #3. Nurses and Aides were wonderful - Docs seemed to think that 'treat the disease and all will be good'. meanwhile I'm have a breakdown the more tests they do and the longer I go without food or drink. Between Monday 11am and today 12:30pm my total intake was 1 Ensure, 1 Bolthouse Hi Protein, and 4 cups of coffee Just going to my preferred hospital ER tomorrow morning - same place my oncologist for the eye issue works and try to get her as the lead on this. Things suck really bad right now.

Good thoughts needed
Okay....yesterday Nora told me to go to Urgent Care as the edema that had been plaguing my legs was now in my face and neck. Some quick checks there and they sent me to E.R. BP was high for me, O2 was low. CT scan showed a 'mass' sitting on top of my SVC (collection point for blood from the upper body returning to the heart) Since their ICU was full up, sent on to a different hospital for tests....where I've been since 4pm yesterday - no food or drinks as they keep pushing the biopsy out. They're pretty sure it's cancer, but whether it's benign or malignant is anyone's guess. They can't give me anything to reduce the edema as that would reduce my BP and could cause the mass to collapse my SVC ...instant heart attack. Good thoughts appreciated....and as of right now, my fishing is on hold till further notice

And the Llama comes through in the pinch. I knew he'd pay off eventually...only thing keeping me in the game this weekend.

What lure(s) are dead last in your arsenal?
Buzzbaits - can't even seem to get the bass looking at them...actually gave the few I had to Gim.

Is ‘saltwater’ model important for inshore casting reel?
They're enough to fight musky and large pike - sheepshead shouldn't be a problem.

Buying Rods from Digitaka
I do the opposite with Amazon orders - I want it drop-shipped from the original. Like my St Croix rods I've bought through Amazon...shipped from St Croix factory in WI.

Adding rusted tackle to a box with new baits
If I can't get all the rust off - it gets tossed. I'd rather replace a few trebles/hooks/rings now than all of them later.

Deep dive app
River levels are probably from the Corps of Engineers - and they have monitoring stations that give real time depth/temp/flow rates.

fishing. does your yard suffer?
Yep, had one of those...and made money doing neighbors lawns with it as well. Had the rear catcher so I didn't have to rake up the clippings.

Trolling motor speed control preferences
On my Edge, I can use the ball of my foot to change the speed, so it varies depending on conditions. Since I don't have spot-lock, sometimes I use that variable speed AS my spot-lock....takes a bit of finagling with the foot pedal, but doable.

Deep dive app
$10 a month on the subscription - which means I'm passing. Ya, it might help - but I'd have to give up my one Caribou trip a month to pay for it....sorry Caribou wins.

Scott Martin dq'd again? Martin Withdraws From Elite Series
Passing a polygraph test means one thing only - you can pass a polygraph test. It does not mean you're telling the truth and the other person is lying. Polygraphs give as many false negatives as they do false positives.

Towing on a bumper
I towed my old 14' runabout with the 40hp Evinrude (sounds familiar somehow) with the bumper hitch of my old 84 Jeep Cherokee that had the 4-cylinder engine. Never a problem.

Post a photo a day!
They actually started up in my town... "In 1946, Mound Metalcraft was established in an old schoolhouse by Lynn Everett Baker, Avery F. Crounse, and Alvin F. Tesch. The company’s original endeavored to manufacture metal gardening tools. In 1947, they acquired the patents to several metal toys and decided to supplement their product line with these new acquisitions. The patents included a steam shovel and a crane, which were the first toys they manufactured. Mound Metalcraft sold 37,000 of these models in the first year. At this point they embraced the toy business and abandoned producing garden implements all together. By 1955 Mound Metalcraft had changed its name to Tonka Toys Incorporated." https://hennepinhistory.org/digging-into-history-the-tonka-truck/

MLF Redcrest at Guntersville
He lost them long ago when he signed up for a job that had him voluntarily doing this. (BTW: thanks for that, Andy - world needs more crazies like you)

Spinning Reels that are rain proof / water proof, under $150 looking for suggestions. Proven Reels only please.
No reel is 100% waterproof - but I had no qualms about using my Supreme-30 after a heavy squall came through for the rest of the day. Now I DID do a minor servicing to it after the day was over - blow-out of remaining moisture and a touch-up of oil on critical places - but far as using it through a rainy day...I got no issues with that. Same thing for my Shimano Miravels, Ultegra or even Nasci. Any decent reel should be fine during a rainstorm and the rest of that day....just give it a little love once you're home.

What is the best high visibility braid?
I'm testing the Revolve in 6# on my UL Crappie rig already...very limp, very castable.
