Water Temp for Beginning Top Water ?
I hope that was on a border river as inland bass season doesn't open for 9 days & 2 hours yet.

Dobyns rods was sold!
Even financial news has nothing on this - last bit was GSM got Mid-America rod company last month to add to their acquisition of Phenix Rods late last year.

Heavy crankbait rod
Certainly - my Victory 7'2" MH/M is rated to 7/8oz...when you factor in skirt, blades, hook and trailer - a 1/2 chatter or spinner should still be in it's range. Note that the weight posted for chatter/spinner baits does NOT include the skirt, blades or hook...it's just the weight of the head...so a 1/2oz spinnerbait ends up weighing between 5/8 and 3/4 without trailer. A Daiwa regular action is a M-MF - stiffer than a true M but still softer than a MF.

'I' Before 'E'
There, there, John. I'm sure they're not going to get their wits together soon enough.

Heavy crankbait rod
For general cranking purposes I'd go with an MH rather than an H. I do have the Victory 7'2" H/M - but its for deeper cranks (11'+), larger squarebills and my 3/4oz+ Chatters/Spinners For most cranking purposes I have the Victory 7'2" MH/F - that includes my lighter squarebills and all my lipless except my Ark Z-75 which is tossed on the H/M (it's a heavy beast)

How to download pictures?
Normal Photos are saved in "Internal Storage/DCIM/Camera" or "SD Card/DCIM/Camera" if you have a Micro-SD card and you changed your default location for saving pics to that. Screenshots - as I said earlier - are in "Internal Storage/DCIM/Screenshots" or "SD Card/DCIM/Screenshots" Those are the physical locations on your phone where the pictures are stored - like directories on a hard drive for your computer. Might want to also check "Internal Storage/Pictures" and "SD Card/Pictures" for any photos that got filed in those locations. Gallery is just an app for organizing pictures into virtual albums...it's not the storage location...Google would like you to think otherwise as they have access to it through the Google ID you have registered. The Files app is like Windows Explorer on a PC or Finder on Apple...allows you to peruse the actual storage locations of files on your phone.

How to download pictures?
Screenshots are located in Internal Storage/DCIM/Screenshots - should be able to manipulate them like any other photo. I either edit pics in the Photo app itself, or go through Files...I never use the Gallery app.

3700 TackleStorage
Ya - the single latch is another thing I don't like about the Edge boxes...besides the main fact that their thicker dividers remove lure space.
-
3700 TackleStorage
You directly quoted my BPS/Fleet Farm post...so I thought that's what you were talking about.
-
3700 TackleStorage
They must have changed them cause the BPS 3700s I have are twin-latch ProLatch style, the covers do come off...with effort, and the number of slots for dividers is about double the original. And yes - the imprint states "Model 3700" "Plano Molding Co"

How to download pictures?
Hmmm - I don't know cause all I had to do to post my previous was start the post, take a screenshot, resize, then Add File. Worked perfectly for me. - loyal FireFox user since 2007

BPS and Fleet Farm also get Plano 3700s with their logos on them - both have more compartment options than the 'Original' 3700

Are the pics too big or just having problems finding where to link them? Too big - go into the Photo Editor Choose 'More Options' there's a resize function there, then save (or save a copy under 'More Options' if you still want the full size original) This is from my A-51 - but the wife's S23 is virtually identical

What applications, if any do you prefer mono for and which do you prefer fluro for?
I don't even own any mono - on my casting setups...three rigs have braid, three rigs have YZH, the final six have FC - my five spinning setups...they're all braid to leader.
-
Worse casting distance with braided line, too much friction?
I never go below 30# braid on casting gear - too much dig-in...which might be why you're losing casting distance. Remember that 20# braid is the same diameter as 6# mono - to me, that's too thin for loading on a baitcaster.

What to do with a sudden warmup
^ If it's calm, you might see a 1-2 degree increase in surface temp - windy day with decent waves...3-5 degree increase.

Pre fishing breakfast...
1 gallon ice-cream pail - after you've eaten the ice-cream of course.

^ Given the rain and wind, I haven't even gotten Trek out of the garage. I hope I can get her on the water before bass opener so I can play with the 93 and get it set up the way I want before going 'hunting'.- 2024 Minnesota Season Thread
Omnia is reporting that Minnetonka's surface temp has hit 52, while Dutch Lake is still at only 48.- Mean Mouth
While it's rare - it does happen naturally. Especially when introducing non-native black bass to new environments. From the Childers article linked above - a small sampling: "When smallies were added to the newly constructed Squaw Creek Reservoir in Texas, they soon hybridized and backcrossed with both northern and Florida subspecies of largemouths that were already in the impoundment. " "By the late 1960s, stocking of spotted bass in central Missouri had led to hybridization and genetic swamping of smallmouth populations. " "Beginning in 1974, smallmouths were stocked into central Texas streams where only native Guadalupe bass had existed. Within a decade, extensive hybridization and backcrossing occurred." There's many more occurrences of stocked fish of one species interbreeding with already present species.- BRAIDED LINE QUESTION
Long as you got a leader to take the shock, it shouldn't be a problem...just don't 'swing for the fence' when setting the hook. That's just the optimal line to use with the rod - also, ignore it for braid as it's based on line diameter, not pound test. My flipping stick is rated to 25# test - I got 50# braid on it...so don't worry it too much. This will help with the hook-setting issue - a Regular by Daiwa is pretty much a M-MF by others...good treble hooked lure action.- YUM Lures: Made In America?
^ You are correct, sir. Guatemala is in Central America. So it's 'American Made' if you apply the term loosely. - 2024 Minnesota Season Thread
