  1. Without researching the the trolling motor I don't know anything about it. I've heard its anticipated to be quite robust... Does it have or do anything special? Genuinely curious, not being a smart a#@
  2. Revlon nail files have worked well for me. The BPS file pictured above also works pretty well.
  3. Thanks for all of the responses fellas! I ended up not doing any fishing as my interest is in freshwater and there wasn't really any public spots near where I was. I'll certainly be back to Florida and will hopefully convince my wife that we need to go visit the Okeechobee beaches instead of Terra ceia lol?
  4. where can i find this worm @Catt? I've been going down a small curl tail worm rabbit hole as of late and that worm looks like the one i dream about but can't find...
  5. It's hard to say what variable is holding you up from landing the frog fish, however what I do know for sure is that frog fishing can test your patience as you're quickly finding out. There are some days where i'll connect and land 9/10 blowups on frogs...and then there are the 1/10 days. The only advice I could offer is keep tinkering with your frog fishing setup and variables the that you're able to control, but most importantly just stay at it and do you're best not to give up on it. once you land you're first frog fish you'll surely be glad you didn't! Best of luck and don't forget to show pics when you finally connect!!
  6. Down in Florida for the upcoming week and would love to reel in a fish or two! Anyone got any advice on some decent places to do some bank fishing? I'm near the Terra Ceia bay area. Any spots y'all can recommend to get a line wet? I'd also enjoy checking out some tackle shops while I'm here. Any advice on a few shops that carry some decent freshwater gear relatively close to me? Thanks Fellas!
  7. Padfields like that are plentiful on the rivers around my area. Most of the time they are very unproductive. If I were going to spend any amount of time fishing pads that thick, I would seek out a smaller completely isolated pad field or target any sort of pieces of structure/cover within said pad field.
  8. Love to hear that! I'll definitely be picking up that model
  9. Currently I own 2 Procyron rods. A 6'-6" MH, F casting, and a 7'-1" UL, F spinning. Love the ultralight but the 6'-6" MH is struggling to find a place in the rotation. I love the fit, finish and price of the Procyron line of rods, and am looking to expand into other models within the lineup. Have any of you tried the Procyron rods? If so, what model? thoughts? I'm interested in the 7' Light action spinning rod as well as a medium light.
  10. 48-50 degrees. Here in Va thats around March usually
  11. Shimano Sensilite. 6'-6" Daiwa Revros LT1000 8lb high vis yellow braid, Power pro 4 carrier main line 6lb Berkley trilene XL leader Uni - Uni leader knot or just straight 4- 6lb mono... My preferred setup! Check out Richard Gene The Fishing Machine on YouTube. His Crappie videos will get you straight.
  12. 5-6 wraps is what I typically do on my uni-uni leader knots. I'd be willing to bet that 5 wraps will work nicely for you?
  13. BOSS outdoors Finesse flip jig heads Zoom Z-craw jr, California 420 color No Skirt.
  14. Do you mind me asking where you purchased the Yum Hellgaramites at @NorthernBasser? I found them on lure net but they wanted something like $10 for shipping...
  15. Personally, I'm a fan of 15lb berkley big game. I've run that for years now and love it. Spook and buzz baits 100% 15lb night game. I don't fish toads that often at all though.
  16. 15lb big game mono.
  17. Thats interesting. A lot of guys around here including myself fish for snakeheads with straight braid and never seem to have a problem. I assume you've experienced one too many lost lures? lol One of the guys on youtube I enjoy is NDYakangler. If I recall correctly he uses a 50lb Fluoro leader when he fishes for musky and pike. must be something to it.
  18. Plano Elite 3707 Spinnerbait Organizer
  19. An all black buzz bait! Don't know if that counts lol In all seriousness, I'd also have to go with a whopper plopper, however i'd choose the 75 size and the monkey butt color.
  20. 100% winter and its not even close! I Love the spring and summer time. Spring is when I feel like I have the best chances of catching giant bass. Summertime is a blast! Sure it might be hot, but so is the bass fishing! lots and lots of fish caught nearly every outing. Fall is where i've really got to work extra hard to find fish. I catch them all over the river and I can't ever seem to be consistent... Winter to me is a time period from December until about mid February. Water temps in the 30's and low 40's. I can't seem to buy a bite in that time frame. I feel like a big part of the reason that i'm not in love with fall is because I know winter is fast approaching. Who knows maybe I'll venture out more this upcoming winter and catch a few and gain some confidence. If anyone has any winter time fishing tips i'm all ears haha
  21. Everyones positive response is secretly what I wanted to hear if I'm being honest. I dream of a much nicer boat and nitro is hard to ignore. Thanks everyone! @Jig Man Thats a great looking boat!
  22. Screw EE, this is awesome! I love a good pegboard display! What kind of boat?
  23. Nitro's reputation is an interesting one in my eyes. Some people seem to thoroughly enjoy theirs while others DEEPLY regret ever purchasing one. I personally have zero experience with the boats outside of checking them out while at BPS. It's hard to argue about how much 'value' that they offer considering all of the other boat brands pricing. Right now you can buy a brand new Z20 with a 250 MERC XS for around $55,000. I'm not in the market for a new boat, I just wanted to hear what everyone has to say about Nitro boats as a whole. Any Nitro owners out there?
  24. I came here to post that I had received mine as well. It was pretty underwhelming like the previous years have been. Personally the only two things that caught my eye was the 25% off big game line and 3 for $10 Booyah Pad crashers, popping or regular. I did look at the Nitro Z20 sale price for a loooooong time... If anyone else notices any other good deals please don't be tight lipped haha
  25. From the looks of your picture @NYWayfarer, We may have taken the same DNA test. Iggy looks like the sweetest thing! Congratulations to you and your family. We adopted our boy River February 27th, 2022. He weighed 16lbs the day we brought him home, and now he's over 60lbs! They grow so fast hahah River's breed guesses were all over the place. Boxer was the most common which was obviously a good one.
