  1. In case I sell them, which I usually do eventually. I’ve ran into enough buyers who won’t purchase without the box that I keep them.

  3. Just a heads up. Costa was bought out and their customer service has gone to crap. They want $120 to replace glass lenses. I had to pay $65 for plastic lenses and do the repair myself. They won’t replace just one lense making you buy the pair. My next pair will be Bajio. The OG Costa crew started it several years ago and they have a patent on lenses that block more blue light. Plus they have the Costa customer service of old.
  4. This was an issue before Covid as well. A percentage of folks refuse to work because child support and/or garnishments will take 65% of their check. They are better off drawing unemployment/disability and not having to pay those.
  5. Same. They’ll offer like 40% of msrp for a great condition rod and then charge you $20 for shipping on top of it. I love ALF and buy from them more often than not but their trade in values are not competitive if you are willing to put effort into selling. Prepaid labels are a must. The workers don’t have a clue. I’ve had several argue me up and down that they don’t ship them at all. Had one that wanted to charge me $120 to ship priority. I used to ship for $15 all day but now it’s $32 I believe.
  6. I rig it to where if the hook is on bottom the “berkley” font is upside down
  7. That’s where the current washers were purchased. Along with every bearing. I’ve replaced the gear and pinion as well. The washers look fine but maybe it’s worth replacing those as well. It’s just an older project reel I’ve been messing with.
  8. Figured as much. Everything is correct on the reel it just came 6lb from factory. I’m just used to locking it down where it takes a lot to pull.
  9. Is there any difference in drag lbs between carbon and felt washers? I have an older Shimano Scorpion with carbon washers and the drag is really light even when locked all the way down. Would switching to felt change anything to the pressure?

Just think what you could’ve caught with a buzz bait ?
  11. You can get a Lews LFS for $63 at tackle warehouse this weekend. Pair that up with a number of really good $120-150 rods and you have a solid combo.
  12. MH MF for squarebills. H MF for chatterbaits.
  13. Hodges marine for Minn Kota. K&K customs for power pole.
  14. I’d always heard Toray was their supplier after NFC. You can call up there and speak directly to Trey if you want to know for sure.
  15. I’ve never had much luck on it compared to other walking baits. It has good action but for some reason just hasn’t put many fish in the boat for me.
  16. 20lb braid seems awful light. I wouldn’t throw bottom contact on a MH rod with less than 40lb. I’d ditch the braid entirely for 15lb fluorocarbon unless you’re around heavy cover and in that case I’d increase the braid to 50lb. Several companies make solid rods in the $100 range including Falcon, ARK, St Croix, Daiwa, etc. A 7’ MH or H fast action should work well. Look for a lure rating in that 1/4-1 or 3/8-1.5oz range.
  17. Darker plastics. Chart cranks. Black top water. Bream skirts. Gold blades.
  18. Others will disagree but I feel that Invisix is great up to 12lbs and not so great after. I prefer Sniper 14lb and up in the same price range. Unless you are on a tight budget, just buy Tatsu. It really is so good.

This CWS has been a very entertaining one so far
  20. You sound like wheeler lol
  21. Invisx is great up to 12 lbs. I’ve used 15 and 17 and didn’t care for it. But what do I know
  22. I rig it with the Berkley font on tail upside down if I recall correctly

Anyone but Tennessee. Unfortunately they are built well for a tournament run. That side of the bracket is ridiculous. I like Florida’s chances
  24. My two 1.5 rods are: Kistler KLX 6’9 MH MF. The older NFC blank Cashion Icon square bill rod 7’ MH MF I use the Kistler for beating the bank or throwing around shallow cover. It’s a great casting rod and is accurate. The Cashion is better is situation where I need to make a long cast. I prefer a graphite rod that is not a noodle. I also throw squarebills on mono
  25. I’ve had good success with the strike king swim jigs that come with rattles. Whether it made a difference or not will forever be a mystery. I don’t think it hurts in dirty water.
