Jig Rod Approx. 250$ budget
I throw my jigs on a Falcon Expert and love it. I have the new and old Cara models as well but like the cheaper Expert more. The Zolo is a nice rod too and I’d use it for jigs over the Dobyns Champion and Shimano Zodias. I don’t have any experience with the new Victory but have bought and sold 4 other St Croix rods because I didn’t care for them. Just my preference. Everyone raves about the Expride but I have never owned one.

Two New sizes of TATSU fluorocarbon for 2022 ~
Speaking of Tatsu, I got hung up using 15lb Tatsu from the bank yesterday. I had about 10 ft of line out, wrapped it around a stick and pulled as hard as I could. Next thing I knew a worm was flying at my face. Instead of breaking, it bent out a 4/0 Gammy. This is after fighting and boat flipping a 6 pound bowfin with the same stretch of line last week. I had confidence in Tatsu before but now I don’t question it. A year in and I have zero complaints.

How many "Average Joe" bass anglers do you think are out there who could dominate the pros?
I doubt there are many guys out there that can out fitness Cody Meyer and Aaron Martens, out flip Greg Hackney, out shallow power fish Jason Christie, out-adjustJacob wheeler and jordon Lee, out crank KVD, etc. Navigating a schedule in that spans from florida to texas to the Great Lakes. But I’m sure a handful would do just as good as some of lower level pros. However I’m sure lots of non pros would be as successful if they had the time and experience the same waters yearly

favorite spinnerbaits for late summer/early fall
Stanley has always been my go to SB but I’ve been impressed with Nichols as well. The new BooYah Covert series are also great. Only thing I change in the fall is double willow blades and compact frame. A lot of time I’ll drop down to a 1/4 oz

2022 Tundra
I’ve owned a twin turbo V6 F150 for 6 years now and will never go back. It’s more responsive, accelerates quicker, more torque, tows great, and averages 20+ mpg with my lead foot around town and 24 cruising interstates. If you need more buy a diesel

What do you think of Spiderwire?
I’ve never been happy with it. There are better lines for better prices across the board

Straight Fluoro for Texas Rigs
15 # Tatsu for me as well. I did enjoy 16lb Sniper too. But Tatsu is better

Power fishing vs Finesse fishing
For me the only bait that works in summer but not winter is topwater. Otherwise I use the same lures in both seasons. Location and presentation may change some but you can catch fish on cranks, spinnerbaits, bladed jigs, and lipless all year long.

Circuit board vs regular square bill
I’m not sure but the Spro Lil John catches more fish than any other square bill in my box. But that could just be specific to my lake. I did break the lip on one by slamming into a bridge piling. But that’s on me.

Shimano Curado 150 MGL vs. Shimano Scorpion MGL
Looks to be a different frame and is lighter. May have aluminum gear?

Okay working it down to 2...okay 3 options. Fury, SLX and the BassX
Of those 3, Fury. But a Falcon Lowrider is heads above them and only a few bucks more. Also a Mojo or Tatula would be better. Generally put, spend $20-30 more and you won’t regret it. My $.02

MidwayUsa has Spro Rock Crawlers for $5.98

Moving to one line of rods - $100-150
Falcon followed by ALX. I’ve owned others in that price range including several Fury’s and they just don’t stack up. Falcon and ALX punch above their price range and have a versatile lineup that covers everything.

Rod and reel setup for/under $180?
Falcon Lowrider All Around is a 7’ MH MF. Finding one in stock may be tough though.

Should BASS disqualify John Cox ?
You are right I’m sure. Nevertheless it is complacent and short sighted. I hope the discount received on the front end makes up for the loss of revenue on the back.

Should BASS disqualify John Cox ?
The glaring issue to me is that the MLF and BASS schedules are too similar. No reason whatsoever the two should have events at the same fishery within a few weeks. That’s just lazy scheduling. Most fans I know are tired of seeing the same tournament over and over.

Should BASS disqualify John Cox ?
I’m in agreement with disqualifying him but let’s not dismiss the fact that probably every Elite series guy was glued to MLF live each day. Which leads me to wonder, assuming Cox did not go back and watch the MLF coverage, what is more advantageous? Being on the water for a week or watching the field on Live throughout the event? I’m sure most would pick on the water if given the choice but let’s not discount the knowledge watching Live provided those guys.
