I’ve owned the 17 for several years and bought the 20 when it came out. I prefer the 20 although unless I found a good deal I’d probably just jump up to the Elite. I love the Elite. The new Curado 70 mgl would also have my eye

That length and power would be great for roll casts, dock fishing, and other close quarter applications. 3/8 oz spinnerbaits, 1/8 - 1/4 oz Texas rig, lighter wire jigs, spooks and poppers. Very versatile. If you were fishing more open water, vegetation, or thicker cover I may opt for the 7’2. Personally I love the 6’9 - 6’11 length for most shallow water presentations.

Anyone know if Quantum will have another 50% sale like last year? Was that a one time deal or do they have a history if doing it each year?

Same here. I prefer a moderate fast action and have settled on two Falcon rods for most of my spinnerbait applications. A 6’10 heavy and 7’3 heavy but both fish more like a medium heavy. My favorite of all time was a 6’6 medium heavy BPS Extreme. I actually still throw some smaller frame spinners on it when I’m in shallow stumpy waters. Spinnerbaits cover way too much of a range in my fishing for one rod though. Kind of like a square bill and 10xd

The biggest reason I use them is to keep everything from becoming a tangled mess. The guide protection is also a plus

I’ve been running Cooper AT3 4S tires on my F150 for 2 years now and have 50k miles on them. Tread is still good and tires are smooth and quiet on the road as they were new. They were also $500 cheaper than KO2s. If you are mainly running interstates the AT3 4S is great.

I’ve fished the Cara a few times now and caught quite a few bass on it. Impressions so far are overall good. It’s light, comfortable, and the action is perfect. The fast action is more true to industry norm than most other Falcons. Sensitivity is there and Id describe it as “high strung” which probably makes no sense....almost like a guitar string that is a little too tight. Not saying that’s good or bad but it feels different than the old Cara and recent Expert. I missed the first 3 bites I had because I trouble discerning between bites and cover. Everything your bait touches just jumps through the rod. The Expert is a very sensitive but a little more muted and in my opinion easier to detect what’s what. I’m going to spool up a different fluorocarbon on the Cara and see what difference that makes if any. In my side by side comparison both rods had 16lb sniper on Chronarch ci4 reels but the line on the Cara is noticeably older. I originally thought that it would be easy to compare the Expert and Cara but I really think both are very different. The Expert excels with moving baits and heavy cover. The Cara seems to be more of an open water bottom contact rod. It’s more finesse orientated in my opinion. But again this is very early on impressions and I’ve only used one model Cara

Been a big fan of Connell since he won the blue trophy here at Ross Barnett. Just love his style and attitude. Definitely pulling for him. I do not hate Wheeler at all but I really want to see one of the other guys have their time. Connell, Neal, and Birge are all deserving of a big win. They have a number of top 10 finishes

That bucoo is great. I use it for topwater and cranks. Picked it up for $69 from. Sportsman’s outfitters. They also have the Lowrider for $99 which is a better rod.

I believe he mentioned that he had tried throwing plastics but kept catching shorts. As much as these guys want to beat the banks and docks it seems the fish are still mostly offshore or on the very outside edge of cover.

The guys who are on them laid off today so they didn’t burn up their fish. Everyone else waiting for fish to move shallow. Water temps have been rising fast. I bet in another day or so there will be some big fish caught shallow

I’m gonna say Zaldain and Mosely will be top 10. Both guys coming in hot after a poor performance in Florida

I’ve now put in some time with the Elite. I bought it with the intention of throwing squarebills but it just didn’t feel right. I couldn’t find a good balance between too much brake and blowing up and was losing a lot of distance from the Tatula 100 I was supposedly upgrading from. So I made some changes and put it on one of my chatterbait/spinnerbait rods and it came alive. I have a Coastal SV on the same rod and both perform about the same which is a good thing. For me the Coastal and Elite just perform better in the 1/2-3/4 oz range. I since put the new Metanium on the squarebill rod and couldn’t be happier. Man what a sweet reel. Reel experimenting is fun

Trey seems like the type that flys by his own rules. He probably always wanted his own reel and felt like he finally had the brand to give it a go
