BPT Redcrest Lake Eufaula Feb 22-26
Eufaula makes sense. They fished it in February last year so most everyone has relevant data to go back to since they’re unofficial practices at Palenstine last month are now useless

A local tackle shop may have one sitting around- Reel boxes
Just curious but why do you need one? The schematics are easily found online- Free shipping - cost me.
Just think if TW figured out what some of these beauty shops have and offer VIP levels where if you spend x amount per year you get x off your next order and is a tier chart. My wife will spend hundreds to reach a certain level so she can get $100 bucks off her next order. It’s genius- What are your favorite Shallow Water Cranks? Brand, Style, Colors?
I’m always experimenting and have lots to try but my current favorites based on affordability, availability, and productivity are: Spro Little John Lucky Craft 1.5 KVD 1.5 and 1.5 wake Rapala Brat I keep colors simple. Chart/yellow, flat white, shiny silver, and red Out of those the Spro comes with nice Gamagatsu round bends but the rest are trash. I had a 2 pounder bend out a stock LC hook- 2021 AFTCO Bassmaster Elite at St. Johns River ~ February 11 ~ 14, 2021
They better watch out for that Bryan New fella. He’s gonna win a few trophies- JDM Shipping times
Asian Portal doesn’t send any emails at all. Just shows up 3 days later. Not sure about others- best rod and reel for under $150?
Several good options. I’d looked used here or at a.l.f first. Especially for reels. The Academy and Bass Pro house brand rods are decent. Falcon makes nice lower end rods. Daiwa Arid is nice as well. Quantum Icon is a fantastic reel that you can buy for less than $50. Icon and Falcon HD/Daiwa Arid/academy H2O would be where I’d start looking new. But don’t overlook used gear- Favorite Spinnerbait Brand / Series ?
Yessir. But don’t let too many know our secrets! I picked up several Sieberts last year and have been very pleased.- 2021 AFTCO Bassmaster Elite at St. Johns River ~ February 11 ~ 14, 2021
I’ve watch a bit of coverage and it sure is nice to see big bass being pulled in. Seeing those guys in shorts makes me a little jealous Ill be honest though these early season bed fishing tournaments aren’t my favorite. Sight fishing just isn’t as compelling- Catching a really big bass.
It is quite ironic that most of my 7+ Lb fish were caught on days that were gloomy, cold, windy, rainy, etc. Another trend I’ve noticed is that more often than not they are near access to deep (relative) water. Even if they were caught in less than a couple feet of water on a point or flat there was 10+ water within a short swim. And every one bolted straight to the deep as soon as the hook was set- 2020 JDM Metanium or...
Just wanted to pop in and say that the 20 Met has the wow factor. It bombs and is super smooth. I’ve never used an Aldeberan but the Met is a joy to cast and seems to be a great all around reel. I bought it to throw smaller cranks, squarebills, and wake cranks with. If it can launch a small 1.5 a country mile I’m sure it will put jerkbaits into orbit.- What is the story with the new Kistlers?
I had a feeling the Made in the USA shtick was over when they started selling Asian reels. Also it was pretty well known that they were having issues with NFC the last couple years I still have one KLX squarebill rod that will never be sold. The Helium’s and Mags were solid too but the KLX really shines to me. The others kind of get lost in the $200ish rod abyss.- Not sure what I did wrong.
Was he doing anything different with his retrieve? Cadence, stop/start, twitch, etc? Could also be something minor like line diameter or cast angle placing his lure in the strike zone longer. Or it could be just a bit of luck. Sounds like you need to get back in his boat for more derbies!- You ever just undress and dive for your lost lure?
As a kid I jumped in more farm ponds and small lakes than I can count. Nowadays I fish in waters loaded with big gators. No chance Im jumping in. Instead I have a lure retriever pole in the rod box. It extends to 15 feet I believe.- Bass Pro Spring Sale
Based on previous years I’d expect only the house brand to be on sale. Seriously they have ruined what used to be a great event.- A Tale of Two Tatulas; newb needs advice
The only time I’ve ever run into problems with the magforce breaks is when trying to muscle a cast. Where you can rip most centrifugal brake reels like Shimano, Abu, quantum, etc if you try to over power a Daiwa it’s going to be a disaster. A simple roll cast or short wristed flick works great- Strange or underutilized skirt colors...

Falcon Head Turner 6’10 Heavy. It’s a staple and available across their entire product line. I take 3 with me every trip- I need to have my head examined!
I keep an assortment of jackhammers, originals, and other brands. They all have a different sound and vibration. One day one may work better than the other. I will say the jackhammer has produced some very nice fish the last several years. It’s components are much better. Don’t sleep on the thunder cricket. It’s usually a few bucks cheaper and also well built.- Credit card sign up bonuses--Cabela's, Scheel's, Academy etc

- Slow Rolling Lighter Weight Spinnerbaits ?
The blade creates lift and the head weight keeps it in the water. Mix and match to achieve your desired result. If you go down in weight you’ll need to use a smaller blade to stay deeper. If you want a big blade, switch to a heavier head to offset the additional lift created by the blade.- How to tell if Pond/Lake has Big Bass.
