Not to get off topic but lews has done a really amazing marketing job with all these orange, green, white, etc reels. Much better than 13 has. The margins on these reels is through the roof and the younger crowd can’t get enough of them. Every other high schooler I see has a colored lews reel in their hand

Weight isn’t the only consideration. Hook size and diameter is the main contributing factor to rod/line selection. A thin wire shaky head hook can be set by a ML light line setup whereas a 4/0 owner jungle cannot.

And remember, a job interview is won or lost in the first 5 seconds. Firm handshake, eye contact, smile, and be presentable. You want the person to feel like they’ve known you for years after 5 seconds. Impossible task but the idea is to make that person feel comfortable. Now awkward! Also you need to sell yourself and what you can and will bring to the table. Always sell yourself as an asset, not an employee. What are you going to do to make them more money?

I’m now wondering if I just got a bad batch after looking in my notes and realizing that most of the setups I’ve been having issues with are spooled with 15lb Red Label that I got on sale about half off. I’ve used the same rods and hooks for a while with no issue which is why my main target was line. Or it could just be Red Label itself as I’ve never used it before buying this lot. Invisx and Abrazx have been good to me overall. I’m going to strip it all if nothing else for a confidence boost. Still interested in trying Sunline

I’ve been using mostly Seagar products since last fall but have noticed my worm and jig hookup percentage declining from past years. I cannot seem to get enough hook penetration. The only variable that has changed is the line so I’ve decided it’s time to switch it up (since of course missing fish could not possibly be the anglers fault). Are there any real advantages to using 16lb Shooter over Sniper? I do not fish around rocks but do fish heavily around grass, pads, and some wood. Also if you have found other lines better suited for this style of fishing other than braid I’d love to hear your experiences.

Past 2 times I’ve ordered an item on sale at Bass Pro I’ve gotten an email the next day saying the item was no longer in stock and they couldn’t fulfill the order. I’ve learned my lesson

I’ve owned two pairs of sunglasses the last 15 years. Both Costas. The first pair were still fine 10 years in but got lost in a buddy’s car wreck after I left them in his car. The second pair is on year 7 or 8 and are still pristine. I think I paid $300 for both so that comes out to $20/year and decreasing. The only time I wear anything else is at the beach I’ll put on a $5 pair to go in ocean

The only tweak I’d have made is to allow the group winners who automatically qualify for the championship to fish the knockout round and compete for big bass that day. Or better yet do away with the auto bid for this tournament

Saw one earlier this spring. It was holding itself in the wind about 150 feet above the lake while hunting. It sat in one spot for probably 15 minutes without flapping a single wing. Was one of the coolest things I’ve ever seen

I used 100% mono for years. Tried braid and hated it. Now I’m 80% flouro and not going back. I fish mono for certain techniques and only use braid on one rod

No different than buying a $200+ rod or reel. Or a $75k bass boat and $60k truck. Or $1000 rifle and $15k side by side. Or $150 running shoes. $90 button down shirt. Why make money if you don’t spend money ?

Even if you do abuse it you’re only out $49. It’ll handle far more abuse than any other reel in that price range.
