Our ramps were closed due to party boaters who were packing 10 or more folks on a pontoon and driving to sandbars holding over a thousand people. They ruined it for the fishermen and the state claims they don’t have the resources to police it. Which is complete BS.

I use McCoy Mean Green on several setups. It’s a blend of nylon and copolymers. Great line for the cost. I do want to try the suffix advance at some point but I have enough Mean Green to last at least another year

Flouro gets a bad rap. It’s cheaper than mono over the course of time and way more manageable than the anti-flouro guys want to give credit. Ive never understood putting the two against each other. They are merely different tools for different jobs To answer the OP’s question, Im not sure I’ve ever had to replace flouro because it went bad. It’s always a case of (a) needing a different Lb test or (b) wanting to try a new product.

I use Red Label and Invisx on the Dobyns and Falcon. Kistler has 20lb Abrasx currently Also I throw shakey heads on a 6’8” MXF Croix LTB with 10lb Invisx. Typically my jerkbait rod but it just does so well with the shakey head

I'm a couple hours south of Memphis and it's post spawn. In fact in most places the main spawn happened 3-4 weeks ago. I live on a small 3 acre pond and the bluegill are already moving to the beds. Bass are in 3 feet of water around hard cover.

Depends. Some I’ve torn apart and cleaned thoroughly. Others just went straight on a rod. If it looks new chances are it hasn’t seen much use.

From what I have gathered Diawas stance is the breaks will compensate no matter if the tensioner is a little loose or tight.

I’ve owned a few older Quantum’s with the ACS brakes and never had an issue with them. Those reels will still outcast most of my Shimano, daiwa, and Lews to this day. The only reel I’ve ever had break on me was a Pflueger Supreme back in like 2005. They replaced it and that reel is still decent 15 years later. Call me crazy but unless you are casting super light lures there aren’t really much difference between any $100–250 reel. Even a $50 Abu black max can be casted all day with little fuss

I became a professional at backhand casting fishing in the back of jon boats as a kid lol. I use both hands and make a short fast stroke. Prob not textbook but it works for me. Honestly I’m prob more accurate backhanded than forward. Still working on skipping. Some baits are easier than others. Shorter rods tend to be easier too. It’s all about angle. Watch Ott Defoe skip if you want to see what a master skipper looks like

If you don’t have the time and patience to learn and work on items yourself it’s usually cheaper to just go buy a new one. Labor costs are through the roof. Most people these days don’t even want to perform annual maintenance on equipment. They just ride it hard till it burns up and then go to the store. While I’m certainly not that type or person I do understand it some cases.

This is my personal opinion but all of the lower end St. Croix rods I've owned were terrible and sold. The LTB I own for jerkbaits will never be sold though. I own a Fury and Champion that are both consistent and feel great in the hand. They don't necessarily do one thing extremely well but they are very well rounded rods. I'd love to try a Champion Extreme or Ecstasy

Patterns. I used to think bass were randomly positioned in the lake with not really any reason. Once I realized patterns were real and consistent it changed everything

I have a couple of Kistler rods and their cork is decent. About par for $200 rods. It’s certainly not as nice as the cork on my higher end St Croix. But the handle material is the least important aspect of a rod to me

No I never had GPL. It’s crazy looking back and realizing how for ahead of the curve those games were. We took them for granted at the time.
