  1. Well I got it after removing the oil port cap. I had removed the screw but the little plastic piece was catching on the main gear. Maybe this will help someone in the future lol
  2. Started tearing down a Lews MB reel I have laying around and ran into something new. After removing the handle and all 4 screws the side plate will not come off. It lifts about a quarter of an inch on all sides. I’ve pulled fairly hard and shook it a bit but it’s locked in there good. I can tell it’s coming from the drive shaft. Any ideas?
  3. I've been fishing gator infested waters my entire life and have never had a run in where I felt my life was in danger. Just watch your surroundings and do not put yourself in between them and the water. Don't bring a dog around either. Stay away from areas with tall grass and watch out for snakes. If you do run up on a big gator and it starts hissing or becoming territorial just back away slowly and keep your composure. But 99% of the time they'll keep their distance
  4. The St. Croix 6'8" MXF lineup are really good jerkbait rods. I use the LTB version but I believe they offer it in every model.
  5. It’d take a pretty dumb thief to steal a package with a camera staring him in the face. Also a plus is our delivery drivers always set our packages down softly instead of trying their best LeBron impersonation. And if a package is destroyed you have evidence it was broken before taking delivery. The cameras really come in handy during election season when those annoying folks show up at your door with pamphlets.
  6. Wireless cameras are cheap and worth every penny. I have Arlos and love them.
  7. Andy Montgomery definitely isn't putting down the jig now.
  8. I really liked the NFC blanks. Hopefully Trey has learned from past failures and will not cut any corners. I’m not going to completely write him off but I won’t be a $200 guinea pig either. As with anything, time will tell.
  9. Y’all are a bunch of mad men. I did snag a Champion XP though.
  10. Just snagged the Ito and PopX from the hook up tackle. Shipped for $28.
  11. Love this move. Hopefully a few more will return. I don’t have a preference between Elite and MLF but from a fan perspective it is exciting to have interest in both tours. A few big names moving back to Elite will really help increase it.
  12. Hope is powerful. Prayers sent.
  13. Ran across an ad for this American Tackle reel. I know they make quality rod blanks but had no idea they also made reels. Just curious what you guys know about AT and their reel production.... https://www.americantackleanglerproducts.com/products/american-tackle-prostaff-lp8-black-carbon-casting-reel-right-and-left-hand-retrieve
  14. Everyone should have a set of Wiha or Wera precision drivers. Size 00 will handle pretty much every reel I own
  15. Keeping your reels inside your house will make it last a long time. You can feel with your fingers when it’s bad.
  16. I’m sure Shimano viewed it as an area to cut cost and weight without sacrificing performance. The replacement part is $2.79 on Shimano’s site compared to $7.50 to the alloy work on the Core. Normally I’m not a fan of plastic but I’m sure it will be the future. Same with gun manufactures using MIM parts
  17. I didn’t realize there were a line of Premier crank bait rods
  18. I'm certainly no expert or pro fisherman but have been lucky enough to catch a few 7+ pounders. They all came on structure next to deeper water. A few came in less than ideal conditions with really heavy wind or on cold days. Slow days where I didn't catch anything else. Another interesting thing I've noticed is none of them were hard bites. They were all really subtle that could have easily not been detected. The biggest bass I've ever hooked into I actually lost while trying to lip it at the boat. My best guess is it was around 10 but when she bit my brush hog I didn't feel a thing. My line just moved about an inch, maybe less and I set the hook. So not losing concentration on slow days is very important.
  19. Regardless he has the name recognition and a big personality that BASS needs. Personally I think it's a great fit.
  20. I’ve never tried a buzz in 30 degree weather but I have caught a few on poppers.
  21. Ole Miss grad and fan here. I'm happy with our progression this year...first team in a few years that isnt miserable to watch. Plumblee is the most electric player we've had since Dexter McCluster
  22. I'd buy 3 Dobyns Fury's and 3 Shimano SLX reels. Should be around $430 with Black Friday sales 705cb for cranks 734 for worms/jigs/etc 705 for frogs
  23. Bait casting: Long distance - 6 Short distance - 8 Skipping - 5 Flipping - 6 Pitching - 9 Spinning - 2 lol
