They already have cheapest prices on the Web. I feel like I get 20% anyways lol
  2. Hate it for the long time employees. From the consumer side of it I doubt we will notice a difference.
  3. Flouro sinks and will disrupt the baits action. You want mono or braid. 30 Lb braid or 12 Lb mono.
  4. I have Arlo cameras outside and love them. They are affordable and wireless. The batteries last about 6 months between charges. 1080p and really good night vision. You can turn them on and off easily with the app. They start recording with any movement and sends a notification to your phone. You can set off an alarm or talk through them. And the videos are stored on the app and easily emailed or text to the authorities
  5. Depends on how much time you have to spend on the water. If you just have a few random days I’d go shallow. If you can go often and spend time offshore finding the fish then you will locate more consistent fish all the way through the winter in deeper water
  6. 10% off eBay coupon until November 4th. TENFORME
  7. Check out Digitaka. The Yen is low and JDM reels can be had at a stupid discount right now.
  8. Very glad your wife recovered and debts are paid off. The cloud of debt can cause all sorts of issues and some don’t make it through the storm. But it’s a critical lesson to all of us a meaningful life can be lived on a small amount of money. Sometimes eliminating the wants and desires creates the happiest version of ourselves. Oh and cheap Walmart worms work great in unpressured water. If you have a private pond or small lake there’s no need to throw a Yamamoto or Rage Tail.
  9. It’s true the equipment and technology has shortened the learning curve. But there’s also more distractions keeping folks off the water too. The dedicated anglers will prevail today just like they did 50 years ago. Technology has just removed some of the trial and error.
  10. Its my opinion but around here it seems like the bigger bass feed on crawfish and bream. Most caught on Shad seem to be under 3 pounds.
  11. Doesn’t make a difference to me but except for one older rod all of my current rotation are split grip
  12. I have a work table next to my rod racks and tackle. Sometime I’ll just sit there and look through my boxes. They always look the same as they did before.
  13. Best normal prices on seagaur are at academy.
  14. My first open face combo was a cheap Shakespeare combo. It was terrible and my father knew it. He did it on purpose to make me learn how to throw a bait caster. Still have it somewhere. First nice combo was a Quantum Energy e600 and Shimano rod. Just cleaned the Energy and it still works well. The rod broke about 5 years ago when I hit it on the trolling motor. I don’t remember the model but it was green with EVA handles. I’m sure it was fairly inexpensive but it caught many big fish.
  15. Their stance on guns and Christianity has had negative effects, especially in the south. Most folks I know won’t even entertain the thought of shopping there. There is an academy next to every dicks and always has 4x the cars in the parking lot.
  16. Not sure if money is a deal breaker but the kistler is $197 after promo code and expride is $260+ everywhere. That’s a noticeable price difference.
  17. I have an older Promise 73 and it’s ok. The build quality is good but the blank is not spectacular. The action is on point but sensitivity is lacking. And it doesn’t feel very light in the hands. I use it for braid power fishing ie frogs, buzzbaits, ploppers, large spinner baits, etc. It does a fine job for that. I’ve never fished a Sierra

If I weight a stick bait its a pegged 1/2 oz or heavier bullet flipping into thicker cover during the middle of the summer. I've had success but usually opt for a creature. Honestly as much as GY Senkos cost you are wasting money by weighting it. You are paying for the slow fall action that can't be matched by other stick baits from my experience. I always hop or drag craws on the bottom with an unpegged bullet.
  19. One tore up my favorite swim jig a couple months back and got blood all over me and the boat carpet. Wish we didn’t have them.
  20. You can get a Kistler Mag or Argon on sale for $140-150 right now. The argon is new and I don’t have any experience with it but the Mag is a great rod for that price. Otherwise id look used or wait for Black Friday sales. There’s a lot of great bottom contact rods at the $200 retail level. From my experience the jump in quality from $130 to $200 is one of the largest. The Mojo and Dobyns Fury are decent at the cheaper price point. There’s so many I haven’t fished with though. I’d stay away from the ALX Ikos and st croix bassx for jigs. I feel your struggle.
  21. Noticed yesterday you could buy a Chronarch MGL at Digitaka for $235
  22. There’s an “occasional sales tax exemption” for folks who don’t sell products on a regular basis. Anyone selling as a business or what can be deemed as a business must pay tax. Whether new or used goods
  23. Winter? Heat index was still 105 here today lol
  24. You must’ve gotten the last one because the website doesn’t even show a casting version now
  25. Any of the standard calibers will do fine for whitetail. Spend your money on a nice scope. That’s where you will notice the most difference especially in low light conditions.
