Kistler Helium 73LMH
I have a few Kistlers that I love. None have any imperfections.

Do you Southerners wade?
As a kid I would wade fish and swim all the time. Snakes always scared more than gators. We still swim and ski at Ross Barnett all summer long but stay in the areas where gators are less prevalent. The more “fishy” areas have 8-12 footers everywhere though. People wade for crappie at Grenada Lake all year long. They dont have as many gators up there though.

Shimano SLX vs. Lews Tournament MB
The Lews LFS is another great option and can be found for around $75. Mine actually out performs my MB. Maybe I just got a good one

Dobyns Fury versus Falcon Lowrider
I haven’t held the new Lowrider. I don’t think you could go wrong with either. Falcon and dobyns have made the best $100-$120 rod for years in my opinion.

Kistler helium 3, ALX ZOLO , Shimano Zodias ??
Instead of the Helium why not look at the KLX. Same great rod but more versatile. It was made for people like you looking for multiple applications. Kistler also just brought back the Argon but I can’t speak for it. Trey puts out YouTube videos on his rods pretty regularly. Maybe check a few out

Line for All Purpose Rod?
I've tried it all and keep coming back to mono for 90% of my setups. Cheap, reliable, and no fuss. It just flat works. Braid has its place for frogs, punching, and other slop situations. But outside of the slop mono still reigns supreme.

Stealing a pros spot during a tournament
So you think it’s ok for me to take a fishing trip to the Tennessee River this weekend? Go rub elbows with big boys? Maybe duck into the leader’s honey hole early Sunday morning before sunrise. That doesnt sound disrepectfull at all? To the community? The city organizers and coordinators? The sponsors? The fisherman trying to win a life changing event?

Stealing a pros spot during a tournament
Weve hosted several Bassmaster tournaments the last few years. Everyone in town knew they were coming way ahead of time. Not only did the local tv crews cover it but there were articles in the newspaper leading up to it as well as billboards, signs, etc. It’s not like 100 pros just randomly pop up in your city overnight.

Stealing a pros spot during a tournament
Why not just fish elsewhere that weekend and let the pros have it? Seems obvious to me

A-Jay's Inaugural Ice Out / Open Water Countdown Thread ~
My post came off too negative. We loved our stay and had a great time. I’d go back in a heartbeat.

getting along with neighbors
IMO most neighborhoods have too many rules. Ours does. I break them often. Just don’t wake me up. And if you get too close to the house my cameras will alert me.

LSU Basketball in Trouble
As a butthurt Ole Miss fan I hope everyone else burns after the NCAA took us to the woodshed over an unproven payment of $11k and a proven incentives worth $3k. But get real. Everyone pays and the players deserve to receive the incentives. Other basketball programs are paying much more $$$ than LSU is. Ben Simmons received a buttload but Kansas, Duke, UNC, Louisville, Kentucky, etc are paying big bucks.

A-Jay's Inaugural Ice Out / Open Water Countdown Thread ~
I felt robbed when we went to Tahoe several years ago in July. It was 99 degrees here in MS. The avg highs in Tahoe were 75-80 but by the time we landed in Reno the area was recording record highs in the upper 90s. By the time we left the local wild fires were so bad you couldn’t even see the lake

Lew's Custom Lite (HM85) vs ALX IKOS
I have an Ikos Promise and use it for frogs, buzzbaits, WPs, etc. I originally had bottom contact baits in mind but didn't really feel it. It's a bit tip heavy and not as sensitive as I personally wanted. It's a solid rod though. Really nice build quality and strong backbone. It's perfect for what I use it for. Never owned a Lew's but the ones I've handled felt a bit too stiff. I've used several different brands and settled on Kistler and Falcon for my bottom contact lures. Just personal preference

Looking for the best rod under $150
What is the rod being used for? What kind of water do you fish?

Pros purposefully misleading about their sponsors baits?
Derek Hubnall turned himself in for accidentally practicing within the 28 day period this week. Got DQ’d from the Hartwell tournament. So it’s not all lying, cheating, and stealing.

Pros purposefully misleading about their sponsors baits?
All of those YouTube stars are my age. I was in college when it exploded. Sucks that I was too busy drinking beer and chasing sorority girls around. Could of been rich!!
-
Pros purposefully misleading about their sponsors baits?
Side note. Jacob wheeler hinted that they can no longer borrow baits from competitors once competition starts so he has to be sure and bring plenty of everything under the new format.

Pros purposefully misleading about their sponsors baits?
I’d wager most are going to use whatever works the best and hype whatever product pays the most. That may not always be the same product. A lot of these guys aren’t making mega $$$ like in other sports. It’s hard to blame them honestly.
