  1. I’ve had more success burning squarebills.
  2. The regular Expert Amistad which is a 7’3” Heavy weighs 4.3 ounces which I consider pretty light for a $200 production rod. I’m sure the 7’4” XH is in the 4.8 ounce range. The best way to go light is to have a custom rod built for you using premium components. It will likely cost double however
  3. LC 1.5 silent in Golden Shiner has been the MVP of the fall so far
  4. Caught them on lipless, silent, and rattles today. Fish didn’t seem to care.
  5. I bought a cheap glass rod once and hated it. I primarily use a kistler KLX graphite crank rod and it’s phenomenal. Also use a falcon trap caster and Dobyns champion 683 as secondary rods. I don’t throw deep cranks though. Mark menendez is a great crank fisherman and uses mostly a falcon Lowrider Mansfield. It’s $120 and maybe worth checking out. As far as glass goes a lot of people love the composit Dobyns and Shimano lines.
  6. Tighter wobble. Typically best from fall to spring when water temps are cooler
  7. This question has led people down the biggest rabbit hole known to mankind. The answer is there isn’t one. You can dive deep into ballistics all you want but I’d bet 95% of whitetail kills are within 100 yards and just about any caliber rifle will make a clean kill with proper shot placement. That’s my .02
  8. Tatula elite reel and probably one of the new Caras
  9. If I had to choose only one line to use the rest of my life it’d be 12 Lb Mean Green.

Been a die hard Braves fan since I was 7 years old and am very happy to see us advance which is long overdue. Regardless of the Cubs/Marlins winner we should advance to the NLCS. The Dodgers are going to be a really tough draw and I’m not sure they can be beaten in a 7 game set but we have an offense capable of scoring in bunches so it’s definitely possible. Id love to see us make a run at signing Bauer. Doubt it happens though. He’s said he’s only signing 1 year deals and I can’t see AA offering him $40+ million
  11. In 2019 there was a MLF event in Florida where Tak and someone else ran circles around a group of isolated pads and caught a million fish on traps
  12. Daiwa advises that you run their reels on the dry side. They advise a very thin layer of grease on interior parts applied with a paintbrush and one small drop of oil per bearing. They say anything more is unnecessary. Consistency is the issue I’ve seen with the 5 or 6 I’ve bought. One will come from the box perfectly lubricated and the next will have a tad less or more. I haven’t had a bone dry one yet though.
  13. Mine had grease but was very a thin layer. After adding some lubrication it has performed flawlessly.
  14. For real! After 4 months of 100 degrees I’m just getting back started
  15. It’s obviously more profitable to pay insurance claims than increase quality control. Whether right or wrong, such is business.
  16. I have a theory that I cannot confirm but my gut says the bigger bass are focusing more on bluegill than shad.
  17. If it’s cloudy with some chop a spinnerbait is one of my go to baits. I prefer more compact willow leafs. A spinnerbait with blades that extend way past the hook is a pet peeve of mine. In my lifetime I’ve probably caught more on spinnerbait than every other bait combined.
  18. Bait has certainly started schooling in shallower water here. They are starting to move back in coves. My best fish of the weekend came on a spook in narrow channel off the main river that had current running through it. A natural bottleneck. Also caught quite a few off a point that had pads on it but had current coming from 3 different directions. The end of the point was basically a pool for baitfish to flow into. Kind of like a water park that has 3 water slides dumping kids in the same small pool lol. Picked these off with a chrome lucky craft 1.5
  19. 5” walking baits I use a Falcon Bucco Trapcaster with 15lb mono
  20. I sent my wife a pic of a 3-4lb fish yesterday and she said “that’s not a lunker”

97 F150 regular cab work truck with 5 speed on the floor. Nothing fancy but it barked 2nd like a champ and peg legged with the best of them. What more could a 16 year old ask for lol
  22. Midway is a great company. I’ve been buying firearm stuff from them for over a decade. I didn’t even know they sold fishing gear until recently
  23. I’ve lost more $$$ selling St Croix than any other brand.
  24. Best part about buying a Dobyns is they have a insanely active Facebook group where you can sell rods for top dollar and quick. Especially right now while Dobyns is experiencing shortages on most models.
  25. Nice! Looks like someone’s already been cutting that cheese
