News, People dumped their pets into lakes
People have been using goldfish for bait on trotlines for decades. Some of them obviously get off the hook. I'm sure if a game warden caught you with a bait bucket full of gold fish today it would not end well.

Marine Battery Options
I’ve been there also. My first boat just would not run unless there was gas in the tank. I had to troll back to the ramp more than once because of that defect.?

I could use some advice from a Mac/Apple expert...
The "Software Update" section of System Preferences only shows operating system updates. Open the App Store under the Apple menu and click on Updates on the left side of the window. That should show recently updated apps and any pending updates. I suspect it's an Apple update to the app and nothing to worry about.

Wife is hard on her new reel, looks terrible
The title of this thread is killing me.... that's all I'm gonna say.

Diawa Reel
I ordered a reel yesterday from Japanlureshop.com. They were a few dollars cheaper than Asian Portal. The exchange rate changes constantly so it may not be true today.

Our Pack got a little smaller today ~
Very sorry for your lost. Dogs are special.

Finding them without technology
I've heard there's a metric subspecies of bass. If you measure it and the length is in centimeters then it's one of those metric bass.

Lucky 13
There is no doubt that Guntersville is what it is today because of milfoil. It was a mediocre bass fishery before the milfoil invasion. Same can be said for Kentucky Lake. It was mediocre, then milfoil was everywhere and it became world class. Now the grass is gone and it's mediocre again. Some blame asian carp and I'm sure they haven't helped but I blame the disappearance of the milfoil.

Finding them without technology
If you have a smart phone, you can get a mapping app that will show you were you are on the contour map. You can also throw out a few marker buoys to give you a sense of where you are on structure as you move around. I noticed your map has contour lines in meters. I didn't think bass could even survive in a lake with depths in meters. ?

Should BASS disqualify John Cox ?
I don’t know this for a fact but I assume that both organizations are receiving incentives from local entities that want to promote fishing tourism. The lakes that are willing to pay for the attention are the ones that get the tournaments.

Anyone try magnet fishing??
Playing with magnets can be very dangerous

What have been some "Game-Changers" for your fishing(?)
I'm not saying the fish just started jumping in the boat when you get spot lock. Did you watched the last BPT tournament? Everyone was saying they shouldn't be using floggers. Spotlock caught more fish in that tournament than floggers. I can't imaging Wheeler trying to do what he did without spotlock. He would have still caught fish but probably a third less, maybe half.

What have been some "Game-Changers" for your fishing(?)
You have to earn it with an anchor and rope. I look down at the 360 imaging and see a tree I didn't know was there. I decide where would be the best spot to fish the tree from. I touch the screen at that spot and the trolling motor takes me there and stops. It's cheating and that's a game changer.

What have been some "Game-Changers" for your fishing(?)
* Tournament fishing. Keeping score showed me I wasn't as good as I thought I was. * Lakemaster maps. Doubled the number of places to fish on a lake I had fished for 30 years. * Spot lock trolling motor. Boat positioning used to be an art form in and of itself. Not anymore. * 360 Imaging. Casting is no longer random.

Active imaging 3 in 1 help
Where the transducer is mounted can cause problems but only when you're moving or if you did something really crazy like mount it at a 45 degree angle. I don't see anything wrong with how you have it mounted. It would be good to post some pictures. I'm not a Lowrance user but there should be plenty on here that have the same unit that should be able to help you.

Mr Lucky
I do a lot of reading on this subject and find it fascinating. The more scientific term for luck is randomness. It no doubt plays huge role in fishing. I read a book a few months ago call the "The Hot Hand" by Ben Cohen. It was mostly about the hot hand in basketball but covered the concept in other areas. We've all seen times where a basketball player hit's several shots in a row and suddenly everyone thinks he's got the hot hand. They start feeding him the ball until he cools off. This concept of the hot hand has been studied to death in basketball and other sports. Is it real or can it all be explained by luck? Countless articles have been written in scientific journals on this subject. Basketball has nothing on fishing when it comes to randomness (luck). You change colors and catch a couple of fish. Is it the new color or is it just luck? I suspect that some folks catch a few lucky fish and end up having a new favorite color for life.

Got a taste of the darkside today
I've always wondered what it's like to be on the water in one of those boats. So did you ride around all day looking for bass fishermen to torment? ?

You’ve eliminated everything I can think of except a hardware problem.

Active imaging 3 in 1 help
I agree with @Deephavens suggestions. My first guess would be something in your settings. Resetting to factory defaults would eliminate that. Seeing pictures would be very helpful.

Active imaging 3 in 1 help
Do you see this interference all the time even when you’re not moving and nothing else is running?

Tardiness
I don’t sweat my fishing schedule. I get up when I wake up. I have a couple of cups of caffeine. I leave when my breakfast has had time to settle. Heck, sometimes I don’t hit water until 6:00AM. ? If someone is fishing with me I let them set the schedule.

Underrated or Overrated?
This is very true with Cajun food. In my experience only Cajuns can cook Cajun food. Even people who trained under the finest chefs in New Orlean can’t cook a decent meal if they ain’t Cajun. Anyone can make a good pizza. It might not be world class but it will still be darn good. With Cajun food it’s either out of this world or almost uneatable.

Best way to catch catfish without catching turtles?
It’s interesting that you guys have a problem catching turtles. I fish for catfish a few time a year when I get “fish hungry”. I’ve been doings that for about 55 years and I have never caught a turtle on a rod and reel while catfishing. I’ve caught plenty of them on trot lines using bream for bait. I usually use night crawlers for bait on a rod and reel. I don’t know if it’s the bait I use, where I fish, or something else but I’ve never had problems with turtles.

Casting to Waypoints
Keep in mind the accuracy limits of your GPS. It could easily be off by 10 feet when you set the waypoint and when you return to the waypoint. Most of the time it should be within 5 feet. I would suggest you assume that what you’re trying to hit is in a 10 ft diameter area and just keep casting till you find it. What I do these days is cheat and use 360 imaging to find my target once I get close with the GPS.
