How do you define "true AI"?

Help me pick a new fish finder
You can view Navionics maps online and you can get apps to view Navionics and LakeMaster maps on your phone or tablet. LakeMaster has a free trial in the app so you can use that to view the lakes in your area to see which provides the best coverage of your lakes. A map is only as good as the data used to create it. LakeMaster might provide the better map for one lake and Navionics might be best for another.

The magazine industry is going away. I read yesterday that Popular Science will stop publishing issues and has laid off most of its staff. They’ve been around for 151 years. They were purchased in 2021 and I’m sure the new owners will do something to capitalize on the well known and trusted brand they now own.

Here the article about what Sports Illustrated did. Making up sports writers with fake photos and fake biographies is not journalism, it’s lying. Buying the fake photos from a site so that others can see where they came from is just stupid. AI can be a tool for journalists. Someday it might write better articles than human. Just be honest about it. https://futurism.com/sports-illustrated-ai-generated-writers

I like what Chaz Bergman said on this topic. Chaz Bergman Using AI-written articles in a magazine can be a beneficial and forward-thinking strategy for several reasons. Firstly, AI can assist in managing large volumes of content efficiently, enabling magazines to cover a wider range of topics and offer more diverse perspectives than would be possible with human writers alone. This can lead to a richer and more varied reading experience for the audience. Secondly, AI can analyze vast amounts of data to identify emerging trends and topics, ensuring the magazine stays ahead of the curve and relevant to its readers. Moreover, AI-written content can be tailored to meet the specific interests and preferences of the readership, enhancing personalization and engagement. It's also important to note that AI does not replace human writers but augments their capabilities, allowing them to focus on creative and complex tasks that require emotional depth and cultural nuances. This symbiotic relationship between human and AI talents can elevate the quality of the content, blending the efficiency and analytical prowess of AI with the creativity and empathy of human writers. Lastly, using AI can significantly reduce the time and resources spent on routine writing tasks, enabling the magazine to allocate more resources to investigative journalism, in-depth research, and high-quality storytelling. In summary, incorporating AI-written articles is not just about embracing technology, but about enhancing the magazine's ability to deliver timely, diverse, and engaging content to its readers. Hummingbird 360 Transducers??
I have the Ultrex mount. The only difference between the different models is the mount and the length of the shaft. They are compatible with the G3N and G4N Helix models.

The latest sale thread
FINS Braid is discounting their gift cards up to 25%. They emailed the gift cards which I immediately used to place an order on their web site. No shipping on orders over $50 and they didn’t charge me sales tax. They make a wide variety of quality braid lines in Kentucky. It’s the only braid I use.

Well you have to go to Buc-ee’s to see it for yourself. It’s the greatest gas station of all time! You’ll probably only go once. It’s really just a big gas station with big crowds. It’ll be interesting to see how well they do long term. They are very well run and well staffed. They also pay very well.- Fish your strengths!
It took me a while to learn this lesson and I consider it the most important fishing lesson I ever learned. You will catch 90% of your fish when you’re fishing your strengths. Yes it’s good to expand your strengths but understand that takes time. Buying a technique specific rod and watching 100 hours of YouTube videos will not make you an expert at a giving technique.- Sorting out my gear
I would encourage you to experiment on your on to gain an understanding. Everyone is different. Obviously you don’t want to fish a 3/4 ounce bait on an ultra light rod but try different baits on your rods and learn what works for you.- if you are a couple of months from retiring, do you keep kickingass at work?
I ended up working an extra two weeks just to make sure my last project was complete. What surprised me was how hard I worked the last hour. A few unexpected issues came up at the last minute. I though I would spend that time saying goodbye. I'm proud of the work I did in my career and it was important to me to end it well.- Establishing depth of fish
A lot of good advice here. I will add one thing. It can take time to find good offshore spots. If you don’t find fish in a place where you think they should be, it doesn’t necessarily mean your thinking was wrong. I would suggest that you plan to spend several hours graphing different spots, then go fish the ones that look the most promising. The fish may be on points in 15ft of water but that doesn’t mean they will be on every point in 15 ft of water.- guy that stands in a Culdesac and casts at the b-ball hoop? me (DVT review)
Next time someone on the culdesac ask if they’re biting just tell them you caught two and hold up an imaginary stringer. That should keep them from asking again and they probably won’t even walk in your direction when they see you fishing.🤣- They are listening to us . Internet Ads
You should expect that when you visit fishing sites and watch fishing videos on YouTube that the advertising world will label you as a fisherman. This is actually a good thing since most of us prefer to see fishing ads over ballet shoe ads. I heard a story about a man that figured out that his teenage daughter was pregnant when she started getting stuff in the mail trying to sell her pregnancy products. The marketing world knew his daughter was pregnant before he did. I assume she was looking at pregnancy related stuff on the internet and if so she might have expected this to happen. Now if the world figured out she was pregnant by listening to her private conversations. That would be very wrong.- They are listening to us . Internet Ads
I worked as a software developer before retiring to spend more time reading Bass Resource 😀. I saw a lot of this stuff and heard war stories from coworkers about what was happening at other companies. I don’t believe the crazy conspiracy theories you sometimes hear. The only thing I’ve seen that you might not realize is how often companies get hacked. In my experience most companies do not notify customers that their private information may has been compromised. For every notice you get about your information being hacked there are many more hacks that are either not detected or not revealed. I never worked for a company that restricted my access to any information. They made me sign documents acknowledging that I was bound by privacy laws which made me not them criminally liable if I revealed any private data. So yes a telephone worker might be able to listen to your phone calls. Google can and does read your emails. I had access to very private information on millions of people but I never snooped because 99.999% of people’s private information is very boring. There is big money in targeted advertising so companies like Facebook and Google work very hard to know as much about you as possible so they can better target ads to you. This concerns me and I do take steps on my devices to limit this. In the end it’s a losing battle.- They are listening to us . Internet Ads
I’m pretty confident that no one is listening to me. I use Apple computers and mobile devices that give me lots of control over what software can access. I’ve installed other software that gives me detailed control of the internet traffic on my computer. That said it all comes down to trust. I have a device plugged into the wall 5 feet from where I’m setting that was paid for by my insurance company and is supposed to monitor the electrical system for potential dangers. It is connected to the internet and could be listening to sounds and listening to internet traffic. They would be violating their privacy agreement and would be committing a crime if they did so but it’s possible.- They are listening to us . Internet Ads
I’ve heard things like this before but I’ve never witnessed it. I can say for sure that the Internet does not have ears. It’s possible that there is software on your computer that is listening to you and showing you ads based on what it hears. If you’re certain this is happening then I would be very concerned. I had a coworker that suspected that the Facebook phone app was doing this. His evidence was pretty convincing. They got a cat and named it Bora. They started getting ads about vacations to Bora Bora.- Jordan Lee Returning to BASS
I won’t buy a Ford because their CEO once said he wanted to put GM out of business. 😆- Latest buzz with Jacob Foutz
Professional fishing has always been more of a business competition than a fishing competition. The evidence of this has always been in plan sight but people still want to believe it’s possible to get rich doing what they love.- Replacing the summer air in your tires to winter air.
Do you guy ever change the halogen in your headlights? 😆- How would you setup a new boat with electronics? Garmin, humminbird, Lowrance...?
Livescope and 360 might not get along if they use the same frequencies. I can’t say. 360 mounts well on the Minn Kota Ultrex. There are other mounting options other than the trolling motor but they are kind of messy in my opinion. - Buc ees
