  1. It stores 1056 watt hours which would be enough to theoretically put a 44 amp hours charge on each of the two trolling motor batteries. I say theoretically because there is some inefficiency in the charger. So depending on how depleted the batteries are, it might bring them up to 100 percent and would definitely make a difference but it is limited.
  2. I agree. A small generator would give you plenty of power to run your onboard charger. They weigh about 50 pounds which is much easier to deal with than two 90 pound batteries.
  3. There’s some bad electrical engineering happening on this thread. You probably need at least 500 watts of power to run your charger. 5 solar panels might get you 500 watts on a sunny day for maybe 4 hours. That’s not a good option. You need a 500 watt generator or you need to pull the batteries out and charge them. If it’s a major pain to pull the batteries, you could use a couple of extra batteries and a 500 watt inverter to power your charger. This would be enough to put a significant charge on the batteries but would not be enough to fully charge depleted batteries. Any gas generator should give you enough power to charge your batteries. There’s just not an easy solution to your problem.

  10. I’m a firm believer in playing the odds in life and in fishing. That means I don’t gamble unless the odds are in my favor. I haven’t found a casino or lottery with odds in my favor.

  13. Looking for patterns is the most important mental exercise in bass fishing, in my opinion. Recognizing a real pattern and rejecting false patterns is the key to success. Failure to reject false patterns is probably the most common mistake. It’s rare to find a very solid, specific pattern at the end of the day. It’s usually more of a hunch about certain tendencies. If I’ve caught 3 fish on the north bank and none off the south bank after a few hours of fishing, that’s not a solid pattern. As long as I’ve got plenty of north bank to fish, that’s probably where I’m going to be fishing for the rest of the day. It would be a mistake to leave with the firm belief that fish only bite on the north bank during this time of year.
  14. Pattern fishing is searching for a repeatable pattern so you don’t have to pitch your bait to any and all areas where a bass could hide. The lake down the road from me has 22,000 acres of area where a bass could hide. Pattern fishing saves me a lot of time. πŸ˜‰

  18. I do some trolling occasionally but I’m not very good at it. I know several guys that are good and they are some of the best anglers I know. I want to learn as much as I can about bass fishing. I’ve found that the most valuable bass fishing wisdom comes from anglers like Buck Perry and others like him who have the depth to see beyond the latest craze. People have been trolling for a long time. It’s important to understand why.

  21. If every lure was made the way the AC Shiner was made the fishing world would be a much better place. The founder Arthur Schoultheis died last year and the company has closed. Here’s a great video of their story.

  23. I watched Millken's video of his first time out in his new boat. It was interesting to watch. He had vertical FFS on one screen and was using it constantly. He had perspective mode on the other screen and it looked terrible from what I could tell. Didn't seem to be dialed in at all. He had the map on his Humminbird screen and not 360 which he has added. It will be interesting to see how the pros utilize prospective mode this year and if the OP's prediction comes true. I've had FFS for almost 2 years and I've had the transducer flipped on it's side for maybe 30 minutes just to check it out.
