When will livewells get chillers
It would be nice to just set the temperature for your livewell to 74 degrees and the on board chiller would keep it at that temperature. The technology obviously exists. The problem is it would take a lot of power to do it. My guess is you would need an extra deep cycle battery or two to power a chiller and it wouldn’t cool the water very quickly. If the lake water is 85 degrees and you put a bass in the livewell you can’t wait 4 hours for the water to cool down into the 70s. So to answer the question, I don’t think we will see livewell chillers until there is a significant advance in power storage.

Nick Saban is retiring
I don’t think he will be missed in Tennessee. 😁 There’s no denying his success. I guess he’s not up for the new era of playoffs and paid players.

Line Capacity _ Daiwa HRF PE Special vs Shimano Curado 200 DC
I have a few Diawa Silver Wolf PE Specials which I expect are very similar to the HRF PE Special. I also have a couple of Curado DCs. They are very different reels and I use them for different applications so it's hard to compare them. I would think the Curado holds more line but I'm strictly a bass fisherman so I don't give much thought to line capacity. I've only used braid line on the Silver Wolf. Hopefully someone else can be more helpful.

Those images look real to me and they look like holds. Let’s give Washington 3 points for each one. New score Michigan 34 Washington 28 😁

Battery Situation
If you don’t want to bother going to an auto parts store to get your batteries tested just buy a tester. I have this one and it has served me well. Only $22. https://www.harborfreight.com/100-amp-612v-battery-load-tester-61747.html

Michigan is the best team in the country and Washington isn’t in the top ten. That doesn’t mean Washington can’t win because the ball bounces where it will but I’ll take Michigan by 14.

Help with new boat battery setup...would you set it up like this?
I thought you were considering two 36 volt trolling motor batteries. If you go with one be sure to check it’s maximum output current against the maximum current draw of the trolling motor. It might be an issue.

Help with new boat battery setup...would you set it up like this?
Your setup looks sound in my opinion. I agree, don’t question Yamaha’s specs for the cranking battery. I would put all of the electronics on the house battery and all other accessories on the cranking battery. It’s a tough call on the trolling motor batteries. It depends so much on how you fish and the conditions you fish in. Also, is it a big deal to you if your batteries die after many hours of fishing in unusually tough conditions? If you’re fishing with the kids it’s not as big a deal as if you’re fishing the Bassmaster Classic. 😁 Remember lithium batteries shut down when they reach a specified level of discharge so the trolling motor is dead at that point.

Weise lithium batteries
Will Prowse gave them a great review on his YouTube channel and then looked at them again 18 months later and they were completely different internally. I think that’s probably true with all of the cheap brands. They buy a batch of them from the manufacturer and the next batch may be from a different manufacturer. That said they all get pretty good reviews on Amazon. For most consumers you buy it and it works. Some have slightly better build quality which might translate into slightly better reliability. I wouldn’t put much stock in long warranty. I really doubt any of these brands will be around in 10 years.

Trolling motor battery
You're never going to run very long at full speed regardless of how much battery you have. I've measured the current draw on my trolling motor which has a max draw of 41 amps. At 75% speed it half that. At 50% speed it draws just 8 amps. At 25% it draws just 1.5 amps. So I can run at full speed for about 2.5 hours but I can run at half speed for 12.5 hours. Think about how fast and for how long you will be running and buy accordingly.

jig vs texas rig when to use which?
I have both tied on just about all the time. I throw both and will start to favor one over the other if the fish show me that they prefer one over the other. As for the rods I use, I choose my rods based on the weight of the bait I'm throwing. It's usually an MH-F or a H-F if I'm throwing a heavy jig. I like to keep things as simple as possible.

New Year, New Fishing Buddy??
A long time ago I had a friend share with me that he had a drinking problem and was going to AA. I was shocked because I didn’t see it at all. He was able to quit but I know he struggled with it for a while. Some people realize they have a problem long before it destroys their life. I don’t know if that’s why your brother-in-law decided to quit drinking. If so and you’re a former drinking buddy, he might be avoiding you for that reason. You can choose your friends but not your family. For that reason, I would encourage you to try to get any issues between you worked out.
