  1. I find the dude who fishes a bunch with the Jon boat and straw hat. They usually have a clue. I got a soft spot when I see lil’ fellas out there fishing by themselves from the bank with a giant saltwater rod/reel and 50lb mono throwing a crank bait from shore into 3 ft of water with heavy hydrilla. I usually end up giving them a lot of my old worms weights and hooks. Most folks talk about their fishing like they talk about they’re savings account...keep that in mind
  2. Worst: braid is the cure all. Like penicillin. Best: fish your strengths. Work on your weaknesses.
  3. Fish see a lot of bait down here. Not as easy as the magazines all say. Go as light and natural as you can get away with in open water. Flip when it gets dumb hot. There is a new bait called a senko that seems to work. There are fish in Florida I’ve seen one.
  4. Outstanding. Honestly some of the best fish I’ve ever had.
  5. South Carolina is a Native American word for Heaven. Go there.
  6. No she doesn’t fish. But she filleted a gar last week using bolt cutters to open it up. Seasoned it and fried it before I could wash the boat. I uh, found the right one.
  7. Yes, that is a big lake. Get a guide.
  8. Walking around a retention pond during summer probably 7 years old. Saw a kid throw what looked like a purple worm into these lily pads. He pulled out a fish. I said “what’s that?” He said “it’s a bass” That was pretty much the extent of it. I wanted to do that.
  9. Same here..two A days started Monday. I’m dead until late November. Game Friday’s, film Saturday’s, hung over Sunday’s....
  10. 1/4 of 200 and 1/4 of 8 is the same percentage but not the same result. This is saying that there are the same number of non trophy and trophy sized fish in the same lake. Cool study but if this were true, no one would weigh in 14 inch fish.
  11. Caught a bunch, these 2 went well with grits.
  12. It’s called marketing. Been known to work in the art of selling things. Knowing when to Neko and when to Wacky is the art of it. The name is the marketing side.
  13. Still never figured out where the pumpkin comes in. They never have orange in them..whatever, they work.
  14. I would imagine that pond has more than 1 fish. Do something different. Throw something different, to different areas at different times than you regularly fish. Heres the deal, don’t be afraid to zero. Between 1 fish and zero ain’t much. Learning how to throw different baits and having confidence in other stuff is more important than that 1.5lber. Go out there with the mindset that you may zero for a week, but your going to throw something else.
  15. Now you gotta try dragging a jig. Not as gratifying as flipping for some with extreme ADD like me, but it’s effective. But remember, your out there to catch and not just fish. Congrats!
  16. Garcia huh...we may be cousins. Dont know about bass fishing up there but coach Frost gott’em headed in the right direction.
  17. That’s fishing. Everyone likes catching. Fishing is a different story.. That should only fuel you more?
  18. Never caught a Tarpon, red snapper or amber jack..and I live 12 minutes from some of the best saltwater fishing on Earth. They seem to not be effected by a frog..
  19. Longer the cast, lower probability of you keeping them from jumping. Rod tip down, constant pressure. High sticking (especially at the boat) has broken more hearts than first semester high school sweethearts at college.
  20. Here, I’ll include the flow chart I use. Are you at work? Yes———>don’t go fishing No———-> go fishing
  21. “Falls in a well, eyes go crossed. Gets kicked by a mule, they go back...I don’t know”
  22. Uncalled for. Even if he didn’t know the limit (which is 100% his responsibility) at some point human brain should kick in and say “hey, I think I’ve got enough” Just dumb.
  23. Another vote for Garmin. I own the Striker 7cv. No maps. Very simple. I Use a very small battery that’ll run the whole day.
  24. ^This. Theyre afraid of the line but not that giant 5/0 hook that’s clearly visible.
