  1. I figure if I get a fish mounted that with my luck I'd catch a bigger and better one as soon as I paid for it. Hmm maybe it would be worth that?
  2. He is referring to actions that the companies and stores that have your credit info on file should do, not you. They (Amazon, TW...) need to encrypt your information on their servers. Similar thing happened with my health care provider. I received a text saying to "call a number if my address had changed in the past two years", which it had. I called the number and first thing they asked for was "please say or type your social security number." The phone number seemed familiar to me. I hung up, looked up the phone number for the place (had a different prefix) and called them myself. It was not a scam. I even asked the woman for the previous address on file and a few other things before I trusted her. She had no problem with that. Good advice. Got a call from "Amazon" a few days ago. Recording: "Your recent order has a problem..." and I hung up. Amazon has never ever ever ever called me, and I have no current orders. Sad thing is people fall for this all the time or they wouldn't try. Oh by the way guys, your auto warranty is about to expire!
  3. Even I could do that with those deflated footballs he uses!
  4. And a man he is! I salute this fella! Edit: You should do it! Airbrush of course
  5. My ex-wife never fished but her ball handling skills were world class.
  6. I can cast right or left with spinners and casters. I'd prefer not to switch hands, but due to tendinitis I do whatever feels good that day. I cast better righty, although I am used to casting a caster lefty. Holding the rod and reeling don't matter to me. I figure switching hands is the best time to drop a rod. This ever happen to you guys? Curious.
  7. Heck ya people make their own, I just started so I won't offer advice.
  8. I just started making my own plastics and the thing about bass having no blue cones in their eyes makes me wonder if they just see blue in grayscale or something else. I asked one, "What does blue look like to you?" but he just looked at me funny.
  9. I record all my trips on video then have my various staff members make the spreadsheet based on those. Okay the video part is true.
  10. Almost all of the peeves mentioned involve other people so I'm going to say my peeve is people! However I am super-friendly unless someone is a jerk. In order: 1. litterers 2. poachers, illegal fishing 3. litterers
  11. Pedals were tougher than I thought too, but I doubt any are easier on any fishing yaks this stable. My first words the first time I pedaled were, "This isn't as easy as I expected." But I'm basically propelling a bathtub and pushing a lot of water. Reminds me of an exercise bike. But I learned to slow it down just a tad which makes a big difference. Once I start fishing the Delta more I will know whether or not I need a motor, but it will go in the back so I can keep the pedals. Why I love the pedals: In a video I made I am floating slowly with the current, facing shore and docks, using very small pedal motions backward and forward to keep the distance I want from everything. That would be harder with a motor I think, especially without a foot controller. So I'd use the motor for point A to point B and pedals for everything else. Finally, if it ever feels like your rudder is hard to steer (not sure if that's what you meant) it is probably not 100% in the downward position. On my 106 if I hit some vegetation it can pop the rudder up ever so slightly, but it makes it way harder to turn it. My 106 seems a bit front heavy, don't know if it really is. But if so the motor and battery in the back might help.
  12. Hey Koz, how's that kayak treating you? Can't find your thread or I would have asked there.
  13. With the scarce availability of kayaks you could probably sell the PDL for at least what you paid. When I bought my 106 most places were months away from having any in inventory, even to ship. I drove 150 miles to get mine and was lucky. If you can't pedal for a mile then you definitely made the wrong choice. Or maybe not...I like the workout I get on my legs. I can go farther with semi-consistent use. If I ever add a motor I will put it on the back where the power pole mounts are, skip Auto-Pilot, and use the pedals to keep me in place once I get to point B. The plus side of this, or one of them, is that I won't have to paddle this tank back if the motor should fail. Pedals may help with that issue.

  15. I'd love to see the black one in action. Looks like it would be similar to the crank bait. Cool. Maybe I will try and make one.
  16. Me too, just not where I fish ?
  17. Few years ago I was parking my truck on the side of the river on a dirt road. Stanislaus River I think. The road under my rear tire collapsed into a hole that had been formed by whatever, all the way down to the axle. I was stuck good! All I had was a small pneumatic jack that came with the truck (Tacoma). Waaaay too short to get me out. I hiked a half mile maybe and borrowed a second similar jack from some guys. Walked back. It was about 95 degrees that day. I'd jack the truck up a little, then fill the hole with rocks, stick the second jack on a chunk of wood, got it a little higher, filled it with more rocks, repeat. Cussing much of the time. I should have recorded it. I was making slow progress but I was worried. People drove by and looked at me and kept on going, until Travis came along. "Hey man I got a big rope I can drag you outta there", and he did. I left the truck on the jack and said just go for it. Pulled me right out, and it was getting a little late by then and I was worried about that. Thanks, Travis! I dunno if this is related to this thread much, but whatever
  18. Honestly, I do ponds and easier stuff mostly. Most of my Youtube vids are the same spots over and over. But every once in a while I just go for it, especially when I'm desperate, like now. Hopefully this rain helps, and keeps coming. Coyote Creek was my "home" for the past few years. I was devastated when it dried. Kinda curious to see if some of the remaining pools are filled with water. Some still had fish. But it's off season now for the creek.
  19. Not very familiar with other cities and their ponds. San Jose and Morgan Hill was good until mid-summer. It took care of my "quick fishing after work" thing. Fremont is too far for that. Next year I have different fishing goals, and I will move away from the Bay Area. It's all about the kayak now and that is not worth doing anywhere near here, in my opinion, combination of cost and fishery quality. And I actually hate living here. Really hate it. I moved near the Delta five years ago and started fishing (stripers) but came back here to help my parents. They recently moved to Oregon so I'm ready to get back out of here. May even move where they are (Salem area). I just came back from there and there is no shortage of waterways. This video was the farthest I've ever walked to creek fish now that I think about it. Normally I'd say a mile or two because I know where my spots are, but my usual creek is now dry. And I actually like and need the hike and exercise. Of all the people I saw hiking/walking and biking this day I was the only one fishing. Now I know why LOL. I will be at the Delta a lot this year. It's the place I want to do a lot of my fishing. My Dad lives on Lake Tulloch and I do well there and it's a beautiful location, and full. So I will be there a lot too. Mainly in the kayak. Creek and river fishing from now on will be mainly in the mountains for trout and I have my van set up so I can camp in it for that. I enjoy crashing through the brush looking for those magic spots.

  21. Updating/resurrecting this funny old thread since I just got a "reaction" on one of my posts. All my Lady President spinning reels still work great. I have caught all my biggest fish on them - all of my 4 - 5.25 pounders, including the 4.2 in my avatar photo to the left. My oldest one has a little play in the spool housing so may need a bearing, not sure, but still works great. Don't notice it when fishing. They have served me well, especially considering what I paid for them (66% off).
  22. No. Only place I put them is the inside of my crate lid. If someone wants to sponsor me then maybe
  23. Up yours, Bait Monkey!!! Have upgraded my mold and injector since this. Maybe Mr Monkey will have last laugh after all.
  24. Definitely looks like it would dwarf a 5 pounder, looks huge! You could make a Youtube channel and upload videos there, and keep it private if you wanted to so only friends could see them. That's why I started one, videos were too big to send to the friend I fished with so started a channel. Awesome catch!
