  1. So it works both ways, sorta.... if you click on NEXT it takes you to the top of the next page. If you click on the next page in line by using the NUMBER it takes you to the bottom of the that number's page. At least that that's how it works for me.
  2. Haha. A friend has android, not sure who but yeah his phone won't let him cuss lol. I have apple and i can drop any bombs i want. Kids have google phones and i think they can cuss too.
  3. My heart is heavy for you.
  4. Caught my first flathead on a crank about a couple months ago. It was about 26 inches or so... hit the lure exactly as you described.
  5. Sounds similar to the safety video we watched in high school woodshop. It probably about the same length and gory as bleep!
  6. Is that a hard T like planetarians or a SH sound like the red planet?
  7. Didn't understand at the time why an old river rat used MH tackle when most others were using M or ML. I do now. Also the bigger fish may not reason but they are not stupid. One for three on a bigger fish (19) that once hooked makes a beeline for the shallowish rocks on the bottom to pop that hook out. Lost several large fish that way over the years.
  8. Most of my order was canceled even tho it was "in stock" when I ordered. Hope you guys fared better. I found what I wanted at another site but paid more.... oh well.
  9. @A-Jay thank you. Caught both my longest and my heaviest smallies (two different fish) on this line. @WRB what conditioner did you like with this line? I remember you mentioning in a post but probably quicker and timely if you repeat here. thank you
  10. I always just wait until my mechanic says it's time for a battery. Only got 'stranded' once and that was only for 15 minutes until someone offered me a jump. Alternately you can get a battery tester and test monthly. There were definitely signs the battery was done on last couple/few batteries I've needed. Harder to start after that first cold night of fall etc. Also pretty sure most batteries now have an expiration date on them. Harsher conditions would shorten that shelf life...
  11. Lol. Yeah thought about after i posted... i guess i just got in the habit of snapping a quick pic or two of lures i've found because i know how quickly they can get lost. That way i can still try to id it if i liked it or it caught a bunch of fish.
  12. I fished straight braid for about 7 years or so. For reference mostly fish moving water. I feel like I did good! No real way to measure that tho. Switched back to using a leader when I was fishing out of a guys boat and the only difference was he had a leader and I didn't. Could've been other factors too but once I added a leader my catch rate went up. I also switched back to heavier mono for moving baits for a few reasons. I guess I'm saying it mostly doesn't matter until it does for various reasons, real, imagined or personal preference.
  13. Or take a picture of it and then search google images
  14. If nothing is stripped perhaps mis manufactured/tolerances off? Or something along those lines.
  15. I too am in the want to see it group. Yes possibly the longest smallie I ever hooked haunts me! But this fish did a vertical jump 15 feet feet away from me. By vertical I mean this fish came out of the water and was straight up and down and a good foot out of the water. It did a couple head shakes and my crank went one way the fish just dropped back in the water. While heartbreaking at the moment I was stoked I saw it.
  16. Unless she's got a mole on her nose, a pointy hat and is brandishing a broom.... hahaha I would look into strengthening/stretching/yogaing your shoulders as much you can given any limitations you have with mobility/age etc. I occasionally have a wrist issues but it stems from a shoulder injury.
  17. Everything @Scott F @PhishLI @casts_by_fly said. Although I personally prefer a lug soled boots. Studs help for sure. Best grip has been the Patagonia Foot Tractor. Felt is wayyyy too slippery around mud and if you do any "winter" wading it collects snow like a squirrel collecting nuts for winter.... Your budget is low. And I don't mean that in a bad way. Waders and wading boots have gone up significantly! My favorite waders (and I've had 4-5 brands, different models in a couple brands) are my Simms 3 layer Gore-Tex. The only thing that would make them better is if they had Patagonia's conversion suspender system to go from chest to waist waders. I've never gotten more than a couple/few years out of boots. Everything is glued now. Well Patagonia came out with some boots that are stitched a few years ago and you can resole but $$$$$. With all that said. Idk.... you can get some inexpensive stuff that's probably good or maybe good enough. A few guys i know like TideWe but i think those were for colder water. It's pretty much wet wading season at this point. Unless you're fishing something extremely urban or something that runs through pasture/cow land.
  18. Hmmm sorta... when I first started fishing swim jigs years ago I treated them like a regular jig and set the hook like it was a regular jig. Missed/lost so many fish! I found that when a fish hit if I just kept reeling until I felt weight and used a sweeping hookset my hooking landing percentage went to almost 100. That's more like spinnerbait or crank bait fishing for me. Idk... everyone is different. I mostly fish 3/8 oz swim jig with boot tail trailer. I've fished them on MLEF, MF, MHM, and MHF 6'9" to 7'. Wading rivers so usually only carry one rod which why so many different action/power. Preference would be for one of the MH with a nudge towards F.
  19. From Japan Tackle website "This MGL 30 model is to cast rigs in 5-7g weight well, a little heavier than that of Aldebaran BFS of 2-5g, and a little lighter than that of original Aldebaran 5-10g."
  20. Nothing here yet. We had a frost last night. When they last came in 2007 it was like early June cause we were camping with Boy Scouts. It was a blast to watch the kids experience them. They kept prophesying the double hatching here but I found out the other night it's only going to be a 10 mile wide swath near Champaign. Disappointing...mostly because I don't feel like driving to experience. One more fun fact. Read the other day that the Massospora fungus infects a small percentage of cicadas. The fungus basically replaces the lower third of the cicada with itself. But not to worry. It gops up the cicadas on amphetamine and psilocybin and apparently feel no pain and just want to party. nature is a trip!
  21. You could always leave a longer tag end and tie a single overhand knot closer to your main knot. That way the fraying will stop at that knot.
  22. I just use a double uni when joining lines. Not sure it's the best but it's easy enough to tie
  23. In case anyone is curious of lyme disease symptoms... https://www.cdc.gov/lyme/signs_symptoms/index.html
