Cast with my right,hold with my right, reel with my right. Been doing it this way since I was a kid, Spinning I reel with the left. Correction; I hold with my left on BC and Spinning hold with the right.

For a budget friendly braid and pretty decent is the Kast King Super Power Color Shield. I use braid on my spinning gear with FC leader. Also BFS guys are using braid because of the smaller line diameter. Either you love braid or hate it.

I been using hybrid ceramics from the JZN store on Aliexpress. Haven't had any issues. I usually just replace the spool bearings and if there is a bearing in the spool tensioner. Also check Spool Speed Bearings they have the bearings with fast shipping. They have everything you need to change the bearings.

For distance you will need at least an 8 carrier, for heavy cover at least a 4 carrier. Think of it this way 4 carrier as off road tire and 8 carrier as a street or highway tire. I been using the KK brand of braid. Their best one is the Hammer braid

I mainly fish the Rapala Rattlin Rap in various colors. Going to try the 6Sense Duke.

The majority of my gear is technique specific. I have one or two rods that are universal.

It was from the bank, rod was in the rod holder, turned away to do something, hooked into a fish next thing I know rod and reel are in the water. Just wasn't quick enough to grab it. That was $100 setup gone.

My service is a simple cleaning, oil and grease where necessary, replace line and back off the drags.

Just hope to live and be well enough to fish. Catch more fish then 2024. That is my plan, nothing special.

I am thinking about changing all my spinning tackle to braid with a FC leader. Can go with a thin dia braid 20-30# with 12-15# leader. Any thoughts.

I have 2 Crankbait rods one is baitcaster and one is spinning. The spinning I use on windy days.

I use the acetone nail polish remover for bearings and carefully use on metal parts. For the rest of the reel I use Penn Rod and Reel cleaner. Remember acetone does not play nice with plastics.
