Just a small one the other day, used Glenn's suggestion of using a beaver style bait.

Could just be a simple thing as how you are presenting your bait.

From what I heard they are a bunch of wise ass kids who copied other manufactures products. I could be totally wrong.

I have a few extra reels for back up

I use two 4" ty wraps. Also have used a ty wrap with a split ring. I have tried the commerical ones but the o-rings kept breaking.

I don't dare to venture to any of the public fishing spots. Went to a private pond close to my home.

Look at this way 4 carrier is like an off road tire and 8 carrier is like a highway tire. Use 4 carrier where there is a lot of debris, etc and the 8 carrier for distance with minimal debris.

Staying home, the places where I fish are just crazy for this holiday. Also the traffic is nuts. Everyone stay safe and have a great holiday.

Been using Tungsten

I see all the new stuff try it, if it doesn't work go back to my old stand by. Can't gor wrong with a stick worm.

With the heat index between 103-108. Heat wave finally broke today right now it is 79 and breezy

Right now where I live in NJ with the heat index it is 103. The heat and sun do not like me.

I been using the Red Phillips knot with good success. Very small,strong, easy to tie and is great for rods with micro guides. I also use the Crazy Alberto for my heavier lines.

As others have said line had some damage or a bad guide. Take a Q-Tip and run around the inside of the guide. If it pulls the cotton that is a bad guide.

For the setup you now have, I don't think you should have any problems with braid to FC. Just make sure you use a small knot.

Probably will not get hung up as much. But, some will say it really doesn't matter.

Not burned out just frustrated
