I have an assortment of Dobyns, Kastking and 1 Pflueger spin cast (for the wife).

I have read everyone's posts watched the videos etc. I bit the bullet and bought a 7' MH/F spinning rod with 3000 reel. My question now is what line is preferred? I have an assortment of copolymer line in different pound tests that I can use or do I need to go to braid? If using braid is a leader necessary. Also I read that some use a small swivel about 24" above the bait to prevent line twist.

I have braid on my froggin rod, braid to FC leader on my ned rod.

I had the same issue this past weekend with a coploymer line, My issue was that I over spooled the reel. Once I removed some line I didn't have an issue. The general rule is line should be 1/16" to 1/8 " from the top of the spool.

I own 5 Fury's and a very good rod for the price. I have a few KK Speed Demon pro rods not a bad rod.

Do you use a swivel with a leader?

What is your preferred line on your fluke set up? My set up could also be used for chatterbaits. I just can't justify now buying a setup for each different baits used.
