Most of the posts are fairly old that is why I am posting I have a few drop shot questions: 1. When is the best time to use a drop shot rig? 2. What type of plastics are preferred ? 3. Can I use this rig from the bank? (lots of under water vegetation) 4. What is a good hook size? Any tips or suggestions that will be helpful will be appreciated.

I am having a dry spell, red, white, blue hooks etc, I can't even catch a cold LOL. Basically I guess it has how you present your bait and what is on the menu for the fish that day. Wife has been catching bass on earthworms or a trout rig, go figure. UPDATE The dry spell is over caught a bass on black hook and Diawa 5" Neko Fat Worm, I fished it weightless black/blue flake.

The reason I brought this up was that the hook size I was looking for was only available in red at the tackle shop.

When using a T-Rig does the color of the hook matter? I have see there are worm hooks in red, black, silver, and bronze colors.

Look it over, reel it few times then spool it with line, then go fishing.

Your start looking at the Dobyns series. I have a Fury 735C this is what fit into my budget, the Champion series are supposed to be excellent rods.

What is your preferred trailers for the following. Any particular brand,type or color. I mainly use 1/4 or 3/8 oz in black/blue and white/yellow(chartreuse) Swim Jigs Chatterbaits Spinner Baits

I am using a Dobyns FR702SF with a KK Sharky lll 1000

I have the 733 use with a chatterbait . You can really feel the action of the chatterbait through the rod . Also have the 705CB I use it shallow crankbaits

I have been using 12lb copolymer on my spinning rig. No Problems

Started fishing with saltwater with my mom and dad in the early fifties, got a boat after college, finally got my captains license. Sold the boats and all saltwater gear . Got into freshwater fishing, then sold everything, got back into freshwater fishing about 2 years ago. I would say 20 plus years.

I just purchased a KK Sharky lll 1000 and it is a nice reel for under 50 bucks. I also have a Diawa Sienna 1000 it was 30 bucks. I will probably be brand bashed, but I do like my KK much better.

I have the Fury 703 SF with Sienna 2500 with 12lb and I don't notice any line slap. If there is any line slap I am not paying any attention to it.

It has started 15% off plus an extra 10% for military it is over on Tuesday This is for 2019.
