Good bass spinning reel for up to 150 dollars
To keep within my budget I purchased a KastKing Sharky lll , seems to be a very nice reel and well under your 150 limit. There are folks on this site that love this reel.

It doesn't bother me at all. It whats catching fish that day or that moment. All about marketing and keeping the bait monkey fed

Based on all the positives about Dobyns I went with the Fury series, I now have 4, the reason is a decent rod that fit into my budget, I bought from TW(BlackFriday) and DSG (with Coupons) Update: I now have 5

I got a Dobyns Fury 702SF with a KastKing Sharkylll 2000. This is what fit into my budget.

Spinning reels do not fit on my new Dobyns Fury rods...
I upgraded my rods to Dobyns Fury series 702SF/KastKing Sharky lll No problems with rod or reel, 703SF/ Shimano 2500, No problems, 705CB/Diawa Fuego CT, No Problems, 735C/Diawa Fuego CT/No Problems. I just checked all 4 of my rods and I have green.

I thought the same with my FR702SF and Sharky lll but once it was snugged down, it fit fine.

Kast King Assassin Setup
I just received the reel today I set the centrifugal brake at 4 and the magnetic brake at 7. Spool set till I just hear it click when moving back and forth. Will test then make necessary adjustments. Anything other suggestions or tips just chime in. Thanks BTW This model does not have the pins as mentioned in some of the posts, it has the dial from 0-6 for the centrifugal brake.

I made an offer on a KK Assassin on the KK ebay storefront. To my surprise my offer was accepted and that is commitment to purchase. My question is what is the best starting point to set the centrifugal drag and spool setting. Hopefully I am using the right terminology.

Crankbait rod
I have the Dobyns Fury 705CB. It is a decent rod for that 100-119 price range. Balances very nice with my Diawa Fuego. Haven't fished it yet.

Powerbait or spinners for stocked trout
Power bait if the area fished is a stocked area, the lakes and ponds where I fish 90 % use power bait since the fish are feed pellets at the hatchery. But I have used spinners and caught fish. Also trying this year are Pistol Petes with the bubble and Joes Super Flies in the Royal Coachman color.

Ned Rod Needs A Reel
I know I will get blasted for the reel I just purchased , but I had to see for myself. I bought a KK Sharky lll 2000 for under 50 bucks with, no tax, and free shipping. Only time will tell.
