  1. No I did not @Pondboss16 probably purchased his NED rod already.
  2. If you are budget minded the Dobyns Fury 702SF was recommended to me by Gary Dobyns.
  3. As others have said just make sure you use Paypal. That way you will have some recourse. Also if it goes south it may take 30 days to get your money back.
  4. To keep within my budget I purchased a KastKing Sharky lll , seems to be a very nice reel and well under your 150 limit. There are folks on this site that love this reel.
  5. This what I have been using, cheap and works great http://www.catfishedge.com/diy-fishing-line-stripping-tool/
  6. Aren't you the crafty person,looks nice.
  7. Kids will be kids, If it was posted that lake would be closed to the public that is a different story.
  8. Well I had to get a Dobyns FR702SF,KastKing Sharkylll,Kastking Assassin 2000, Gotta keep feeding the monkey.
  9. It doesn't bother me at all. It whats catching fish that day or that moment. All about marketing and keeping the bait monkey fed
  10. Based on all the positives about Dobyns I went with the Fury series, I now have 4, the reason is a decent rod that fit into my budget, I bought from TW(BlackFriday) and DSG (with Coupons) Update: I now have 5

  14. I will have to play with the settings since I am the backlash king
  15. I thought the same with my FR702SF and Sharky lll but once it was snugged down, it fit fine.
  16. I just received the reel today I set the centrifugal brake at 4 and the magnetic brake at 7. Spool set till I just hear it click when moving back and forth. Will test then make necessary adjustments. Anything other suggestions or tips just chime in. Thanks BTW This model does not have the pins as mentioned in some of the posts, it has the dial from 0-6 for the centrifugal brake.
  17. I bought a Dobyns Fury 702SF and putting on a KK Sharky lll 2000. This is what fit into my budget. Haven't fished it yet.
  18. I made an offer on a KK Assassin on the KK ebay storefront. To my surprise my offer was accepted and that is commitment to purchase. My question is what is the best starting point to set the centrifugal drag and spool setting. Hopefully I am using the right terminology.
  19. I have the Dobyns Fury 705CB. It is a decent rod for that 100-119 price range. Balances very nice with my Diawa Fuego. Haven't fished it yet.
  20. Power bait if the area fished is a stocked area, the lakes and ponds where I fish 90 % use power bait since the fish are feed pellets at the hatchery. But I have used spinners and caught fish. Also trying this year are Pistol Petes with the bubble and Joes Super Flies in the Royal Coachman color.
  21. I know I will get blasted for the reel I just purchased , but I had to see for myself. I bought a KK Sharky lll 2000 for under 50 bucks with, no tax, and free shipping. Only time will tell.
  22. I would say the Dobyn's Fury 702 or 703 SF
