I am just getting back into bass fishing. I have taken the suggestion from members on this forum and try to stay with the basic colors for clear water,(light colors) and stained water,(dark colors). I also look at the colors that mimic the fish and creatures where I am fishing.

I got a deal on Power Pro and only have one reel to spool. I got 2 150 yd spools for $11.50 Don't think I will use backing. I will just be spooling it up.

Unfortunately in this day and age people will do anything to make a buck whether it is legal or not. I have purchased a few fishing items off E-Bay. I have purchased a ton of stuff for my other hobby without any incidents. Maybe I am just a lucky one. I always use Paypal for these transactions. No credit cards.

There a few people that ruin it for everyone.

Good customer service is the only way to stay in business these days.

This maybe a stupid question should you have the line spooled on the reel before setting it up?

I have 2 Fuego CT's that I have not setup yet. This thread has been most helpful.

Never bought a rod based on color, my rods were purchased on fit and function.

I will be using my Dobyns FR705CB for crankbaits and jerkbaits.

I bought a Dobyns FR735C and mating it with Diawa Fuego CT 8.1:1 gear ratio and Power Pro 50# braid.

All I can say is buyer beware. Some real junk and some items are over priced. I have seen these lures and reels on Ebay and they are from China, Hong Kong etc.

I know everyone has their favorites. Looking for some suggestions for some crank baits to get started with. My fishing is 99.9% from the shore small farm ponds,some lakes and the local reservoir. Also can through in a few jerk baits.

I started a thread "Froggin Newbie" and the recommendations for my Froggin Reel was 7:3.1 but suggested the 8:1.1 "Gear ratio....faster is better. Looking for some farmer friendly farm ponds in the Monmouth County, New Jersey area to fish.

What I was told with frogs the color doesn't really matter, the fish only sees the belly and the action. From all the good suggestions posted here white, black and natural seem to be the choices. But since I am not an expert we can let them chime in.
