  1. Ohio is like this also! As long as you are not touching the creek bed you are good, but most people that own property that a creek runs through are too stupid to understand it and think they own the water also. This is the exact reason I don't fish many creeks here in Ohio, I don't want to deal with more stupidity than I have to! haha. There are a few creeks and streams that run through state or national forests and those are about the only ones I fish. Dumb law, because it causes more issues than it solves!!!
  2. Mine too, but the way it is going already since the colder temps are sneaking in, I don't know if the bait monkey got the message!! haha?
  3. Nothing wrong with having nice gear at all! Just have to focus on the important stuff, as slonezp above said you have to focus on the essentials that bass need to survive. Food, shelter and defense. Find the food sources the best you can, if they are lowering the lake levels, look for the last visible hard cover you can see and try there. I know here on my home lake when they start the winter drawdown, the fish run straight to the last wood that is still in the water for the most part. Make multiple casts to the same target from different angles if possible, this is where the defense part of the bass comes in, they aren't always striking out of hunger, mostly they are doing it out of defense when you get them mad by making too many casts to where they feel safe. Also I am just guessing here but since you live in Tennessee the fish may be transitioning right now, which will make them more difficult to find.
  4. That video is excellent as are most others on Bass U, I have figured this out slowly in the last couple years. Senko selection is down to two colors, I have two different flipping baits I use in two colors. I used to buy every color and bait I seen others using thinking I would get the same results as they did, and sometimes it works but most often it does not. So I have tried to simplify and tried to find what my style of fishing is, still searching. haha But I am still going to buy too many baits and rods and reels, because that is part of it for me! haha
  5. Pretty sure the new boat was out for the last time here in Ohio last weekend, so yeah what else is there to do other than buy stuff I don't need!!! ?
  6. Get yourself a plug knocker! I promise it will save you money and headaches!
  7. Just seen one of those on a video but can't remember the name of it!
  8. Smack everything you can with that crank!?
  9. I have several Icons, and yes they seem to be true to what Cashion rates them. The handles do take some time to get used to but after you fish them for a little bit you will get used to them. I like them better than my cork handles now. Maybe I am just a weirdo though! haha. They are very sensitive rods and fish very well for me! Will be buying more down the road when I get some money saved up!
  10. Watched a video on Bass U the other day, it was KVD talking about lipless baits. He said the red eyed shad was designed to have that shimmy when you let it drop during a yo yo retrieve. Hard to argue with much that man says!
  11. Too young! Praying for peace for his family!
  12. Leesville has always been one of my favorite lakes. Beautiful scenery and the fishing usually isn't too bad either. Thanks and good luck on the house, hope it is easier for you than others I have talked to.
  13. Well I am guessing if you are talking about musky you are fishing Leesville then!
  14. That was me Monday morning, took the new boat for her maiden voyage and it was a little brisk to say the least! haha
  15. 28 this morning when I got in the truck! Couple more times out on the boat and will have to put her away and cry for a few months! haha
  16. My wife loves to go when the weather is nice! She also rarely tells me no when I want to go fishing! This boat replaced a 2007 Bass Tracker 170. Thank you very much! I have been in it more than I haven't been lately! Haha
  17. Well today was the first outing, took the day off work and met up with a buddy at a local lake. They have drained the lake for winter, and he knows the lake better than I do so wanted him to be there with me. Dropped the boat in the water around 8:30 this morning, got the two hours of idling and low speed stuff on it and then got out in the middle where most of the deeper water was and jumped on her a little bit. She gets up quick for sure. We also fished for a few hours, had about two feet of rain the last week or so, so it was stained up pretty good. We managed to find a few cranking and slimed the boat a little! All and all it was a great trip, and can't wait till the next time out!
  18. My new 2022 Phoenix 819 pro is finally here! I love how it turned out!
  19. I am also lucky enough to have a great local tackle shop near me also, and they focus mainly on bass fishing. I try to buy everything I need from them if possible. They have an amazing selection and the prices are great. If I do order online it is only TW and one other. Never BPS or Cabela's.
  20. Well she showed up yesterday at my dealers out of the blue, no one had any idea it was coming. To say I am extremely happy with the way it turned out is an understatement. If I can figure out how to resize a photo of it I will definitely put it on here. Went yesterday after work to see it, and was happy it came out as I pictured it when I ordered it. Hoping to get it tomorrow and have it on the water Monday for some break in and fishing. Don't have much time left to go here in Ohio so going to take advantage if I can!!!
  21. 10# power pro in the high vis yellow is all that goes on my spinning reels.
  22. I have a couple of their baits. Bought them because I wanted to try balsa baits but didn't want to pay the price of some of the other baits. They seem to run well, and have caught a few fish on them! Seem like good baits from my experience with them, especially for the price compared to others!
  23. Sunline Assassin is what I have used since I decided to try fluoro, hasn't failed me yet. It is also not stupid expensive!
  24. I look at it as long as the bills are paid and she is happy you should be good! But not all wives are made the same!
  25. Thing that worries me is all the companies I see that are owned by this conglomerate are in the hunting industry. So this looks to be the first fishing company they have bought.
