Top Water Bait Suggestions
For poppers I tend to stick with the old faithfuls, Hula popper for warmer weather and the Pop R for when the water is colder. The Spook is the stick bait I use the most.

How did most of you start?
I started with a float tube, and still fish from it. It is awesome to fish from, light weight, and peaceful in it. Now I have a Bass Tracker with a 9.9 on it, but still fish from the tube here and there.

Which dobyns fury?
I would say the 734 is the one most people say is the most versatile. I only have the 734 of the two so I don't have an opinion on the 735. I use my 734 for chatterbaits and spinners mostly, but wouldn't have a problem using it for T rigs, jigs, and multiple other techniques. I bought my little brother one the other day with the sale and it should be showing up to his door some time today as a surprise for his birthday. Hope he likes it as much as I do!!!

Tackle Collection Size
I echo the other responses, having lots of tackle does not make you a better fisherman. I have learned from experience, about 5 years ago I got on this kick of buying a bunch of stuff because a friend had it and said I had to have it if I was bass fishing. Well I didn't think about it and went and spent a bunch of money. Today I don't have 75% of that stuff because I couldn't catch fish on it, mainly because I wasn't taking the time to learn how to fish one bait, I was trying to learn to much at once. Now I focus on what I fish well with and always have, I still have some stuff that I don't know how to fish well yet but that stuff stays, I try to take with me the stuff I have confidence in. I fished for years with Ugly Sticks and cheaper reels, they got me by, and caught a lot of fish. I am almost 40 and just got my first boat last summer, and I have finally purchased higher quality rods and reels. I guess what I am saying is don't try to keep up with the guy that has to have all the latest and greatest equipment, because usually those are the people that couldn't out fish a toddler. Buy the equipment you can comfortably afford and the baits you are good with and enjoy fishing. No need to spend your whole paycheck on one setup to catch bass, they don't know the difference.

Would love some advice.
I would also say try some finesse if it sees that much pressure. I know it isn't everyone's favorite thing to do but if everyone else is throwing big stuff at them, finesse may get you the bites you need. Just my thoughts!

Picasso Aaron Martens Shock Blade Tungsten Knocker
The regular Picasso has a lot tighter wobble to it compared to the zman. I don't know about the tungsten version!

Best fish finder ~$1000
I just installed a Lowrance 9 Ti2 on my boat a few days ago, haven't fished with it yet but just messing around in the garage with it and messing with the settings and screens, I am definitely impressed. I looked at all three when I purchased mine and the Garmin was nice but the picture wasn't as crisp to me compared to the Lowrance. Hummingbird was out of my price range, but I did look at it. Nice unit for sure just more than I wanted to spend.

All of my rods are Dobyns, and all my reels are Lew's

The latest sale thread
I just took advantage of the TW sale this morning. Bought a Dobyns Fury for my little brother for an early birthday present. I will take that savings on a decent rod any day of the week. Don't worry I bought him a reel and a spool of braid to go with it. I am not that careless!!!!

spinnerbaits
No trailer for me, I believe with a trailer the short strikes become worse!

spinnerbaits
I always have a spinnerbait tied on, I like little compact baits. They are still 3/8 oz but the bait as a whole is more compact! Seem to work better here in Ohio for me anyways.

Dobyns Kaden rods, anyone got an opinion yet?
I am happy with all three of mine so far, they are well built, but I would expect that from Dobyns. Haven't had much time on the water with them, but they are very comfortable in the hand for sure. As Kev above stated they are definitely faster in the tip than my Fury rods.

I would do the smart thing and forbid her from quiting, if she still insists on quiting, then you have no other choice than to disown her! ?
