New to fish finders, Help me
If it is using a 200 kHz transducer then you typically get a circle which has a diameter of approximately 1/3 of the depth.

Anyone have experience with Perfection Lures sure hook set Shakey head jigs?
My experience is that every fish that I have caught on them has been hooked in the top of the mouth. They make most any plastic bait stand up and don’t get hung up very bad. It has become my go to shaky jig.

Advice for Wiring Bow Fish Finder
It is not a good idea to use your trolling motor battery for your depth finder. Trolling motors cause lots of electrical interference. It should be wired directly to your boat motor cranking battery. Be sure to put the fuse that came with the depth finder in the line.

Thinking about making my own soft plastics
Plan on spending several hundred dollars to get set up very well. You need a lot of stuff in order to do much. Just getting set up to pour tubes cost me $300. There are lots of good bait making sites where you can get valuable information. Tackle under ground has a don’ts for newbies that can prove invaluable for you.

Fiberglass gel coat stains protection
Bow to stern is a polymer sealant. It seals the pores in the gel coat, but it takes 3 coats to do it. Then every few months a fresh coat on a clean boat.

Fiberglass gel coat stains protection
To prevent it you’d have to keep it in your garage. If you get some Bow to Stern, clean the boat well, put on a light coat, let it dry then wipe it off, put on a second coat, repeat, then put on a third coat you will be able to easily clean it when it gets dirty. I have it all over my boat and motor. All I do for cleaning is run a wet rag over it and dry it off.

Question about avoiding line twist when spooling up a spinning reel
Sounds like a plan to me. I’ve pulled line out from a spinning reel and run it through closed phone book to take twist out.

Spinning tackle in Bass fishing
I carry about 10 setups of each. Some of my spinning are for finesse and some not. That is the same for my bait casters. It just depends on what and hoe I am fishing.

Wow - I am having difficulty understanding some high tech fishermen.
It seems more like stupid instead of high tech, and you can’t fix stupid.

That is how I do it. I also put tape over the knot so I can see when I am getting close to the splice.

Bait Caster for Finesse
A setup with a medium rod to me is for shaky or cranking. Finesse is when I pull out my ml Bronzeback and my Curado 70.
