Shrink wrap for rod grips
I’ve been using it for years. I buy mine from Mud Hole.

Nope.

36 Fortrex steering funny.
I’ve never owned a cable drive trolling motor that wasn’t effected by torque at certain speeds or directions. You might call Minn Kota customer support and ask them.

What is the Point of Rod Sleeves/Socks?
I use them to keep the rods from getting tangled up in my undivided locker. I also color code them by setup technique use. For example, if I want 1/8 oz swim bait setups I grab the ones in the blue socks. In my divided locker I have to have them to protect the guides when taking rods out or putting them in. When I am meeting someone I carry 4-6 setups in the passenger area of my truck, (short bed 7.5’ rods don’t fit). The socks prevent tangles. That is also true for when I am fishing in another guy’s boat. They keep the rods from being tangled. By only taking one off at a time they don’t get in the way. Like you, one of the guys that I fish with doesn’t use them. He piles his rods. The air turns blue when he reaches for one and it is all tangled up with the others.

Hard & Soft Plastisol in One Bait
I’m sure it can be done. If you have a multi cavity mold it may be difficult. You might practice by using two different colors so you can get a quick idea of how it works. I just use medium plastisol and haven’t had any problems with nose hooking.

Tackle Warehouse wow.
I placed my first order this morning. After about 30 minutes I realized that I had overlooked a couple of items. I called them to see if I could add them to my order. The guy said sorry your order has already shipped and I should have it by Friday. In my book that is fast. I’m used to at least a week’s wait.

Thanks. That is the closest thing I can find but the name doesn’t ring a bell for me.

What color is this Keitech ?
I didn’t keep the package and need to order more. I can’t remember what it is called. It has been working well for smallmouth lately. Thanks if you can help.

Braid to fluorocarbon leader
I’ve been doing most everything recommended with a couple of exceptions; straight braid—-last time I tried that I go a severe butt whoopin, straight fluorocarbon—-anything more than 8# is a nightmare on spinning reels. I just upped my leader from 10 to 12. I’ll see how that works tomorrow.

Braid to fluorocarbon leader
Recently I posted about the topic and was going to use uni to uni with 15# braid to 10# fluorocarbon. I did. It was a disaster. Some of you touted the Alberto knot which I used to tie. After the uni to uni debacle I decided to go with it. So I have been tying it. It too is breaking at the knot. That is a problem when I am a guest and can’t have backup setups in the rod locker. Any tricks or tips on how to keep it from breaking at the knot?

Wire weed guards, do you trim them
A little super glue should do the same.

Wire weed guards, do you trim them
Munkin also bends the guard. I find it gets tangled up in my leader.

Have you considered O rings?

Braid to Leader on Low Gear Ratio/IPT Reels
This may be more important than the line.

Wire weed guards, do you trim them
I use 45-90# Surflon coated stainless steel leader wire. I want the weed guard to reach past the hook point to almost the barb on the hook. My opinion is that it needs to be long enough to actually work and limber enough to not hinder the hook set. The pic is 1/8 and 1/4 oz swim bait heads with 60# Surflon. I fish them with 30# braid and 10-12# fluorocarbon leaders.

Electronics cover
Have an upholstery shop make you one that will be a custom fit.

Weedless Ned Rig Head
You need to find someone who has the Midwest finesse mold that takes the Victory #1 EWG hook. That’s the closest thing to weedless that I have found.

High vis braid for finesse bass?
I have gone back to it for feel. I am using fluorescent yellow 15# Power Pro with 10 and 12# fluorocarbon leaders.

when you buy donuts or bagels by the dozen....?
I don’t eat them but always take 2 dozen when I have my boat serviced, a dozen for the parts and service area and a dozen for the technicians.

Transom Savers - New Video
Me too. I’ve had a lot of different ones over the years and I like the way they fit on my Verado. Learning the proper trailer depth for correct loading and paying attention when you back it in alleviates incorrect boat positioning.

“Clean up” bait
We call them follow up. It depends what the strike was on as to my follow up. For example if it is a spinner bait I like to follow up with a buzz bait, if a top water then some kind of plastic, if a shaky then the follow is a Ned just to name a few.

Why did they stop making 5:1 power gear ratio baitcasting reels?
There is a Shimano Gloomis buy sell trade Face Book page. They sometimes have good deals on quality used reels just like the flea mkt. here.

New to crappie fishing.. HELP!!!
Lots of medium light rods will do the job. The one that I like best is a St. Croix Premier 6’6” medium light fast paired with a Shimano 1000 and 10/1 white Power Pro braided line.

First Boat / New Member - 1993 Bass Tracker Tournament V17 - 60hp Johnson
I have a MK and a NOCO. Both work just fine. There is a whole world of electronics from which to choose. I suggest that you go over to Bass Pro and talk to some of the sales guys. They can explain the functions of different brands and units. if you run into electrical issues you may want to call Scott Robinson at Marine Repair Center on National just south of Division 417-833-9191. Good luck. I hope you enjoy your boat.
