I fished northern Illinois yesterday one bite but nice to wet a line.

I used Pflueger for years until I bought a Daiwa tatula Lt. It’s awesome so much lighter. For bass fishing I would go with the 3000 CHX shallow spool this is the one I have. I use 10lb braid with a leader. It holds plenty of line.

I have 30 3700 boxes full no way am I counting them. I’ve been adding to the collection for 25 years.

I can’t wait I’m in Kenosha County waiting for ice out.

Jerkbait and jig

I drop shot in about 30 fow I use 10lb braid to a 6-8 lb fluorocarbon leader. Same set up if I fish shallow.

I use a Diawia tatula 7’4” frog rod and really like it I used to use a 7’ but prefer the 7’4

What do you plan on throwing? 30-40 should cover most. I use 50-65 for frogs

You would be surprised how many people will let you fish. all you have to do is ask permission. Don’t make a mess and be polite and follow the land owners rules.

Get yourself a big glide bait you don’t have to spend a fortune a S waver 200 will draw the fish in don't plan on catching them all but you will get some heart breaking follows.

Start throwing big baits I throw big swimbaits here in Wisconsin. Sure my buddies catch more fish but I catch significant bigger fish sometimes I won’t get a bite for a week or two but I get the big fish to show them self. Give it a try but have patience and stick with it.

Nope I’m sure they are there if we can get the occasional 8 lb bass in Wisconsin I’m sure that Ohio has its fair share of 10s. I’m sure no one is going to say where but I’m sure there there.

Tons of 10lbr’s just start carp fishing. Just kidding I’m sure there’s some farm ponds with some big fish.

I use the tatula 7’2 heavy it’s been a great for jigs it’s a little more than 100. But take a look at the tatula xt Line should be right around 100.

I have a few crankin sticks I love the 7’ medium for jerkbaits. And the 7’3 heavy for big top water and treble hook swimbait’s.
