Don’t give up on them I’ve had some great days with a bone color 90. Actually had a giant bass pull the split ring off the bait and I caught probably 50 over 3 pounds that week I was in Florida on that one Bait.

ideas for a specific topwater rod
I use a 7’ medium bps crankin stick for walking baits and chug bugs. it loads nice and keeps them pined. I also use the same set up for jerkbaits.

Go to frog?
I throw a lot of pad crashers and live target. I mainly only use black,white & brown if I’m not getting bit on those colors. I stop frogging and go to something else.

I would recommend humminbird 2 helix 7 or bigger depending on budget. You could get a side imagining unit at counsel and a standard helix sonar at the bow and share side images data to the bow with linking the units together.

There is no comparison between the two I have a few og tatula rods and just got a arid x. The og tatula is a awesome rod the arid x is a good budget rod but nowhere near a og tatula.

Losing Jig Fish on Heavy Action Rod
I went from a 7’ m/h to a 7’2 heavy and have not had a problem. I like it much more I use 15lb fluorocarbon.

It could be the anti reverse bearing or it could be normal if it’s not moving a lot. You can contact Lews and tell them what it’s doing. Might have to send it in for service.They have great customer service but I think they are still closed due to covid 19.

I think your just about spot on only thing I would change is the line I’d go to 14 lb line I like suffix siege.

I really like my dobyns 795 I throw spro rat 50s 9” slammers basically up to 3.5 oz baits.

Anyone throwing Buzzbaits on a 7’6 or longer?
I use a 7’ m/h moderate now but wanting more distance I’m thinking about going to a longer rod. like a 7’6 or 7’10 m/h cranking stick. I usually throw a 1/2 oz bait on a bb1 6.3 with 50lb braid.
