Anyone have any Allergy Tips?
I’ve seen people do that and have even considered it. But the look. Lol People will give me interesting looks on the lake for sure.

Anyone have any Allergy Tips?
Thank you for the responses. I have not tried Flonase and ironically, my wife had a fresh package sitting in the medicine cabinet. She always has my back. I’ll give that a run for a few weeks and see if it helps.

Anyone have any Allergy Tips?
I went fishing this morning and there went the Allergies, just like any other time I go fishing this time of year. I only fished til noon and here I am typing this at 7pm with watery eyes, a runny nose and feeling run down. I don't care how much of a good night's rest I get, when I get home, I feel like a zombie and I usually require a nap, unfortunately, I always wake up feeling very lethargic. Tomorrow I'll be fine but man, it is really starting to wear on me. FWIW, I am 51, in good shape, no medical issues and live in SE PA. Does anyone have any tips? Over the years, I have done the continual doses of Clariton, Zyrtec, Xyzal and a Nasacort Nasal Spray with some success but the side effects with vivid dreams take their toll and I stop taking it. Anyone else have that issue? I've tried the local bee honey thing, it did not seem to make a difference. I shower after fishing and put on fresh clothes and that does help but the damage is done by then. I even have one lake near me that gets Algae Blooms and I have learned to stay away when it gets into summer as I will get bumps and rashes on my arms and legs. Obviously, I am allergy sensitive but I cannot be alone and hopefully one of you guys can help with a possible solution....rather than not going fishing.

For those that fish everyday...How happy are you? :)
I am 51, I am not retired but I only work 3ish days a week. I work for myself and have become very efficient at what I do and make a good living doing that so I don’t know that I will ever actually retire. Anyways, with that said, I fish at least 1 day a week to keep the jitters at bay lol but sometimes it is 2-3 times a week if the “life / wife” schedule and weather allows. Just having the ability to go, at any time, sometimes cures the crave so I could understand how some of you who have retired relatives who don’t fish as much as they use to view it.

Separate battery or not for Garmin
I'm in TB's camp, use what you have and see how it works first and the solution will present itself. Heck, if you asked this question on some forums, people will suggest buying a 100 amp Lithium for $1k. LOL FWIW, when I had a kayak, I used a 8AH battery from Cabelas on a 4" Finder and it lasted all day.

Premium Seaguar fluorocarbon mainline at an affordable price.
Just a follow up. I fished the 10lb version today and I was as impressed as I was with the 12lb version. If I had to be extremely and I mean extremely picky, the sensitivity may be a tad less than the Sunline Assassin I mentioned in my last post. Not enough to make me spend more for Sunline. Overall strength is impressive, I was Ned rigging today and snagged a few branches but dragged them to the side of the boat without issue.

Premium Seaguar fluorocarbon mainline at an affordable price.
I am a Sunline Assassin FC fan but I cannot deny that it is pricey so when I seen this hit the market, with marketing touting a reasonable price, I bit. I fished the 12lb size the other day and I really liked it. When comparing memory with Sunline just coming off the spool, the Basic was a little more straight, which I think is a good thing. I found no issues with knots and after dragging a jig a while, nicks were comparable to other lines. Basix runs just a little bit thicker lb for lb compared to Sunline Assassin FC so do take notice to that if you are finicky like me. I liked it so much that I also picked up a spool of 10lb that I will be fishing tomorrow on my Curado 71mgl. I do not anticipate any issues as it's diameter is just a tad larger than the Sunline 10lb size that I was previously running. At it's current price point, I suggest giving it a run.

A reel built for skipping and pitching. Sweet!
It’s been on my radar. I was tempted to pick one up one day at Cabelas as I really liked it but the purpose of that trip was for a Curado 150mgl and they are a little harder to find in stock.
-
What's your favorite reel?
I think you might need to create a price range because I am sure most people like their most expensive reel the most. Baitcast, for me, it is the Curado 71mgl. On 10# floro, I can cast the lightest Neds, sail a jerk bait a long way and by evidence a couple of weeks ago, reel in a 40lb+ Flathead. That one took some time I will admit but that little reel is worth every penny for it's price IMO. Oh and FWIW, it is not my most expensive reel but it is close. Spinning, I love my Stradics but I also have a Sustain and while it is nicer than a Stradic, I only use it for trout stream fishing. I am sure if I had some 3000 series Sustain for Bass, I'd probably say that one.

2017 crestliner 1600
I took the motoroguide TM off the day I got it home so it never seen water. I knew I wanted an Ultrex and bought one a couple weeks before even buying the boat.

Red eyed bass?
It just means that they’re really angry you caught them! Lol. Seriously though, some have them, some don’t. I suppose they could be different strains? but I’ve caught them side by side.

2017 crestliner 1600
I like it all! I was able to squeeze a 10" Garmin Echomap recessed into the console. It wasn't easy! it took some finesse and creativity but it worked out really nice. A GPSMap 8610 would have fit easier but the $1600 difference between the two models made the choice for me. I also have the same 10" model at the bow with Livescope and a heading sensor tied in to show me true boat position in relation to my targets.

12vt vS. 17vt or 24volt batteries
At one time, I was running Livescope off of a 24v setup just to see if there was a difference as a couple of years ago, it was all the rage online about voltage as LS operates at a wide range of voltages. I will shamefully admit, I did see some improvement at the higher voltage but I quickly realized that the house battery I was running the LS off of originally, just couldn’t handle the load. I ended up separating LS to its own 12v battery and viola, the 12v image was just as good as the 24v image. The point, if you are supplying adequate amperage, you will not see a difference with any voltage.

Help me pick a trolling motor
I suggest staying away from the Terrova if you enjoy using a pedal. A Terrova pedal acts nothing like a cable steer or one that mimics a cable steer like an Ultrex or Garmin. FWIW, I installed a Terrova on my last boat, a Deep V and I really liked it but my fishing turned more and more towards bass fishing over the years and foot control became more desirable than a remote or the pedal that came with the Terrova. So for me, an Ultrex was a no-brainer on my new boat. The Ultrex is also much friendlier with adding transducers as you will find yourself purchasing some type of add-on mount or DIY creativity for the Terrova to prevent crushing cables.

2017 crestliner 1600
Congrats! I love mine, it's a great 2 man boat and for it's size, has a pretty good amount of storage and both anglers have plenty of deck space. I run a 20 so I can get on restricted lakes in my area but I can get it to 22mph so with that 40, that thing will run great. I have rigged mine with a new TM, Finders, Livescope and Lithiums so if you have any questions, I probably have experience so don't hesitate to reach out.

2022 bass tracker classic xl quality?
I bought mine before things got Covid Crazy so rather than throwing a number out there, I paid what was listed on the Crestliner site for that model, configured the way I wanted it. Similar to Tracker, there is no haggling, the price is the price. I am a member of a couple of Crestliner groups and it does appear at one time they did have some transom issues but that was years ago. The newer designs / methods are solid and I would not let old tales ruin your future decisions. To touch on what @Stratocat_Joe mentioned about size. The Tracker Classic Beam is 2" wider than the Storm but I recommend standing in each one. The deck on the Storm is SO NICE and does not come to a dart like many other boats, giving you much more space. You won't notice it standing next to it but once you climb in, you'll be surprised. As an example, a friend of mine loves crappie fishing so we stand side by side fishing / watching Livescope and we do not get in each others way.

2022 bass tracker classic xl quality?
Bear with me on this response…it’s probably going to go around the world but it is relevant…. I now have a Crestliner Storm 1600, I recommend adding that boat or the 1700 to your search as a good comparison to the Classic. I previously had a Tracker ProGuide V16 Deep V. As time went by, my fishing style and needs / wants changed and that was the reason for the switch. I had the ProGuide for 4 years and I never had any real issues with it other than what I would label as fit and finish. I enjoy working on boats and adding finders, trolling motors, wiring, batteries, etc. I know that Tracker inside and out. Fast forward to my Crestliner that has received the same treatment as that Tracker with add-ons, OMG! that Tracker was tough to work on and the Crestliner fit and finish is WAY better than Tracker so I can understand why other people have issues. However! Most complaints are from people who purchase directly from Bass Pro. If you can find a true servicing dealer in your area, your experience is going to be much better. I purchased my Tracker from a true dealer who do their own work. If a weld cracks or anything else under the sun, they fix it at their shop. They do not send it back to the factory like Bass Pro leaving people without their boats for months on end as well as questionable quality repairs. So there you have my long winded story. Lol. Short version. Would I buy another Tracker? I would not, I’ve seen the other side. Had my needs not changed, I am certain that I would still be happy with my old Tracker.

Traditional Ned Rig, whose given up and now just fishes Ned sized baits
I am a member of several local lake groups on FB and there are a couple people who sell some really nice Neds and even football jigs for great prices. Maybe try out some groups local to you.

PFD on a kayak- laws
Before I bought my boat I fished out of a Hobie Outback for quite a few years in both Pa waters and NJ saltwater. No matter how good of a swimmer you are, too many things can happen, like a boat running you over, it happens. If you’re knocked unconscious, goodbye. It’s not about you, it’s about the people you are leaving to mourn you.

Lithium Swap
Cancel your order. If a battery is not designed to be used in series, only bad things will happen. I would suggest ordering from the battery suppliers often seen in the boating industry like Amped Outdoors, Ionic, Dakota, Miller, etc. etc. These suppliers have many variations in Ah at 12v that can be ran in series. Definitely check to see if your charger is lithium compatible. If the manual or specification does not specifically state or have a mode for Lithium, it is not compatible. Lithiums are awesome for weight and power but if you are not good at DC electric, I suggest taking it to someone who is. When lithiums burn, they don’t go out!

Mega SI on Ultrex or just Mega DI
Russel marine made a video at one time that discussed transducer on TMs. Their conclusion was to not get the built in transducer and in a case where you have to pick one, get the cheapest. Their point was to attach the transducer you want, especially as time goes by and you want to upgrade. Their other point was if it should break or fail, you’re not out of the water because of an in service TM. Just food for thought. As for what one to get, I do like SI up front, it has literally shown me where to cast and catch.

Dobyns Fury or St croix mojo??
I would lean to the Fury personally. I have several Mojo Bass rods in both spinning and casting. I will give credit where credit is due, they are workhorses for their price but I have had to replace a few guides the last couple of years. I even found one on a rack at the store one day that had a ring missing from one of the guides. It's not a deal breaker for me, I have some experience building rods so replacing a guide is what it is but...........I treated myself to a Dobyns Champion XP last year and fell in love with it. This led me to check out the Fury in store as it is similarly priced to the Mojo Bass. That "cheaper" Fury still has that "Dobyn's" feel, and I prefer that over the Mojo Bass. I know for me, my next budget rod will be a fury over the Mojo Bass.

anyone have no interest in fishing with sonar, and maybe prefer the 'old wayze?'
Electronics are just another tool. If I had to give up my electronics, I might as well throw my rods away too and force myself to carve a point on a stick with a blade I made from a stone when I get to the lake.

live scope and drift paddles
There are several Livevscope pole solutions on the market. Whether you want to keep it attached to your TM or use a separate pole not attached. Try a Google search for Livescope Transducer Pole and you'll find many designs for many prices. I had a Fishing Specialties pole on my last boat but when I switched to my current rig, I just use it attached to my Ultrex as it suits my fishing style and I prefer to be hands free.

Never again.
I love this topic because it is what makes fishing so individual and awesome. This is akin to what's your goto bait in X situation / X condition and the varied responses. One person cannot get bit on one method while the next person favors that method and vice versa. If there is one thing I have learned from fishing, visiting this and other sites, find your favorite method and run with it, you'll catch. I however have to jump in on the I will never use a G-Squad product. I have not seen anything from them that has been truly developed and proven by them, just mimics or questionable tweaks of other products. I'll give credit where credit is due that they have great marketing but marketing isn't going to put any more fish in my boat.
