  1. Yeah, that restriction keeps many off of that lake. It’s one of the reasons I switched boats and went down to a 20 so that I could fish that lake more effectively, more often. I still fish BM and Beltzville, the 20 moves that boat 22mph so plenty fast for those places.
  2. @Susky River Rat don’t forget us Nockamixon Specials.
  3. I am of the mind that you have to get bit first, detect the bite second and with that in mind, the rod is going to do that before the reel.
  4. I think we’re in the same church, just different pews. Amp draw should be the concern first, use length, second.
  5. The link shows "Input Amperage" 60 A continuous.
  6. So it does have an amp hour requirement. At least the OP has some food for thought and can do his due diligence in available batteries for his needs.
  7. I recommend looking at the specifications from the manufacturer. For this thread's purpose and the OP's desired TM, this is a link to the specifications and the input amperage stated for that TM. https://www8.garmin.com/manuals/webhelp/GUID-B3BCDA2E-E3B8-4864-840E-DA1DB2C5C670/EN-US/GUID-72459CF0-A338-433B-B128-5359C52E18E1.html
  8. Yes and no. While ah is used for a common understanding of how long something can run vs watt need, if a device is expecting a higher flow rate than a battery can provide then performance is going to be hindered. It’s been proven on the water by people who run TMs on a popular bass boating forum.
  9. Just a note on the 50ah batteries for the TM. That TM is looking for a 60ah input. Guys on another forum are starting to realize their motors will not run at full speed with consistency while powering at that AH. I would consider using 60ah for the TM. 50ah became a popular choice due to price in the earlier stages of everyone going lithium so it seemed like the no-brainer, welcome to the internet. If a device requires X power, give it X power. Many guys on that forum also state, I never use full speed and it's fine. I fear for them the day they find out it isn't fine.
  10. I guess it depends on how often you fish in those conditions and of course, your wallet. If just a few times a year, I would suffer with heavier but convenient to put on and less expensive, hip waders with felt soles. If you plan to go alot, I wear Frogg Toggs Hellbender Stocking Foot Guide Pants with Stocking Feet and Korker Boots with Felt & Studded interchangeable soles. This combo feels like wearing normal street clothes to me and I can move around a stream quickly with confidence. I do have chest waders for when I Salmon Fish but they are just for the NY Fall Salmon Season, for trout fishing in Pa, chest waders are overkill and just adds weight. Regardless of wader style, I stay on the cheap side because I learned that no matter the manufacturer, series or cost, 2 years was the maximum I could get out of any waders and 3 from any boots. I use to trout fish ALOT though, every week of the year, 1-2x a week so my experience may be little on the extreme side but I considered it to be part of the overall expense every 2-3 years. Oddly, I never realized then how cheap I had it, now that I am into boating and primarily bass fish.
  11. Hard to beat Seaguar Basix when it comes to price and performance so I run it on several reels. Sunline Assassin FC for my finesse setups.
  12. When I wanted to get off of the shore, a guide introduced me to Football Jig Fishing. Not to sway you away from your mentioned presentations but you may find jig fishing a little more productive and it will give you more confidence fishing off-shore.
  13. Drinking, smoking, skill level, whatever, it doesn't matter. You own a boat and post on the internet about fishing, you're already not like most people. I joke but with a grain of salt. Your interest in fishing just far exceeds theirs and that is all there is to it.
  14. I look at FB marketplace every week to see if it’s getting flooded yet. In my area, unfortunately no. I say unfortunately because if they’re selling, they’re not on the lake.
  15. FWIW, I do not tournament fish so I do not have skin in this game. I am looking at this purely from an experienced internet user who may have seen some questionable things in his time, regardless of subject....but what I do see is the language used on their site. A "non-profit" who will outsource their CPA, Weigh Master, Tournament Director, Insurance and Media. Who will those outsourced services be serviced by? I can only think of politicians who seem to get funds passed in bills to only have those checks made out to organizations that happen to be owned by family or friends of that politician. We all know how that works. I would hope not but this is a red flag to me when I see something labeled as a non-profit. I raise my eyebrow at the media portion as well, they state their media editor will edit all of the angler footage to be posted on their website. Not wanting to waste an opportunity to monetize, I am sure it will be posted to a YouTube channel as well. Where does that income go? Back into the tournament prizes? I would hope so but could a deal be made with the media editing company where maybe they edit for free and take all of the monetization? That would be a HUGE red flag to me. I especially like their quote of “We don’t know what we don’t know”, we may need to adjust strategies and tactics as we go". Does this mean future tournaments may allow FFS? It begs the question. I know I am being cynical. I hope I am categorically wrong on everything I posted above.
  16. I have been a subscriber for quite a while, I appreciate your content. I don’t do the notification thing on any of the channels I subscribe to as I find it to be redundant. When I jump on YouTube, I click the subscription link and it shows me all of the new videos released by channels I follow.
  17. $14k? That looks like $16,345.00 to me.
  18. I have not hunted in a few years, I am just too into fishing now but a neighbor was telling me a story about her dad's dream caribou hunting trip some years ago. The next day in my YT feed, a caribou hunting video. Go figure. Coincidence? There are no coincidences unless you consider the Apple iPhone I own, you know, the one that Google pays Apple $20 Billion a year to be the default search engine. Yeah right. More like a backdoor hook into the software to spy on Apple users.
  19. Are you asking about a guide or a charter? or maybe a combination of both? If you do not have boat access, hiring a charter is the next best thing, other than a friend having a boat. As for guides, I have used them twice. In both instances I wanted to learn something. The first, catching stripers from a kayak in salt water. The second, learning to fish for Bass offshore. In both instances, worth every penny! They cut years off of having to "figure it out" on my own.
  20. I like this site. It’s more relaxed than many. I don’t post much as many answer questions before I am able so I see no reason to repeat what others have said. I will take a moment to rant though. People don’t read threads anymore. They look at the first post and respond. This behavior is rampant on all social media. People also want to be spoon fed, rather than scroll or god forbid search a forum, they ask the same questions answered a hundred times before. They then get offended if you tell them to do a search. People….
  21. I salt fish NJ regularly for Stripers from a boat. Full faith in your equipment and especially your drag is a must! but we bull in our Stripers, there is no finesse about it and if it wants to take drag, I use my hand to palm the spool and control what I let it take, using my rod to continue to pull on it. While I love head shakes, I immediately give them an extra pull if they start to shake. I use a single 5/0 jig head and Plastic Shad so I only have one hook to rely on and I try not to give them a single inch. We also fish them relatively light. 7’ rods and 3000 series reels. 30# braid with a leader. Anywhere from 30-40#, depends if there are blues around. One from this season that was 42” but I could have sworn it was going to be closer to 50” with the way it fought. It far exceed what other 45”-47” Stripers have felt like this and last season.
  22. For cold weather, I like my Timberland Hiking boots for all day comfort. I would wear them all year but in the warm weather, most sneakers work for me but if I do fatigue, taking the sneaks off and just wearing socks works for me.
  23. If you’re ever just killing time, sitting on the couch perhaps, get up and grab your rod and practice casting. Make a target with a paper plate, a bucket, etc. If you need height, stand on a step or something that will raise you up a few inches. I’ve done this for too many years to mention during the winter. It’s fun, occupies bored times and it really pays off on the water.
  24. Performance vs Price is what immediately comes to mind for me. That 7.5e is a 3 1/2 hp rating at roughly $3750. That is a steep price to pay for that size of motor when the equivalent gas motor is $1150. Their future release will be a 20e and 35e, comparable to a 5hp and 9.9hp respectively. I cannot imagine what they would cost, maybe $6k or more for the 35e? It looks like a nicely built unit, I like the tech but performance vs price makes it an easy decision for me to stay gas. I am sure it fits some segments nicely. A lake local to me has HP restrictions and many of the pontoons docked there have Torqeedos and other electric motors to get around.
