  1. If you know the Senko is in the fishes mouth, set the hook and reel it in. Sometimes they move and sometimes it's weight on the line but if you wait to long it can injure the fish with a deep hook.
  2. My experience as well....... good post.
  3. Spinnerbaits - legendary
  4. The talons tell me that's some sort of predatory bird...... quite an aggressive bass. Check out this aggressive bluegill I caught this morning. Just hanging on to the tail of keitech trailer, not even close to the hook.
  5. I particularly love the fight and while largemouth bass are considerable fresh water fighters, they aren't near the top pound for pound. Fished a lake back in May for a week that was equally populated with largemouth and spotted bass. Each fish that I hooked left little doubt which specie was on the end of the line. And then there's these guys 😳
  6. As an avid braid user, most everything I throw is on M power rods. Frogs and monster worms would be an exception.
  7. Praying for Mrs. Jim 🙏
  8. Wilson Marine Low country Marine Marshall's Marine Boat sales of lake Wylie
  9. We've had a hot and dry summer except for the 8" of rain dumped on us from the latest storm. Fishing has been good, better than expected here in VA.

    Glad you joined 👍
  11. Large lake with a lot of boat traffic, someone would have likely hit it. You did the right thing.
  12. Mid afternoon bluebird skies Low water Heavily stained water Full moon August
  13. Cloudy, light drizzle and breezy so gave a single Colorado blade spinnerbait a try in submerged timber in about 5 ft of water. Caught a decent fish and several more on a Wacky rig " Cola " . Every fish this morning was tight to cover regardless of cloud cover.

I've never tried skipping with a baitcaster, gotta good feeling at what might happen 😁. My 2 favorite baits to skip with med spinning gear is flukes and wacky Senkos. The only time I really skip is under docks and overhanging limbs low to the water. Oh I'm braid to leader on spinning.
  15. It can be confusing, girth vs length. I caught a a bass a few years ago that VA deems a citation yet only weighed 6.7 at 23" long. Just enjoy the moment and release the fish and congratulations on a PB 👍
  16. I paid $231 for breakfast several years ago, fact. The owner of the restaurant knew I hunted and fished and had a Remington shotgun for sale. I bought it and he simply added to my bill. Lol
  17. I agree 100%. Having been blessed with good health is something I don't take for granted and is the driving force which leads to elevated enjoyment...... and mental health well-being.
  18. Chicken sandwich and a rod......Seems completely normal to me.
  19. 😂 Yeah this is 2024.....71k is entry level, a steal.
  20. Can't remember ever thumbing the spool on a hook set, braid user here. Can't remember snapping a 3.0 hook either......you must workout 😁 Correct knot / drag should correct this.
  21. Welcome Scott.
  22. I catch bass in 1 - 3' of water all summer long in submerged lay downs with a spinnerbait. Many times I've had to raise the trolling motor to get to them.
  23. Get a Vexus VX21 and be done 😁
  24. Flukes get hit but hookups are hit and miss. Try a Gamakatsu 4.0 superline screw lock hook 🪝
