A few weeks ago our world changed when my wife, the love of my life, was told she had Cancer. They tell us it was caught early, that her prognosis is very good. She is lucky there is a well regarded Cancer center near by.

A week from today she goes in for surgery, then a few days wait for the pathology to come back, then a plan for further treatment as needed.

If you can, will you please send an extra thought or prayer our way. It would mean the world to us.

                                       Thanks

As a cancer survivor I understand your trauma & fully support you both. Keep your chins up & give the doctors your full attention. You need to be your wife's advocate as she gets through this.

Prayers going up from south Arkansas. Would you be willing to share just her first name?

Prayers sent.   I’m setting in a hospital room with a family member right now.   I know it can be a grind.   Be strong.

When you said “caught it early” my hope went way up. Early detection is critical with faster moving cancer types.

Stay strong and take care of yourself so you can be her caretaker and advocate.

We are here for you and your family🙏🏻

Tom

Prayers to you and your family. Stay strong!

Thoughts & Prayers sent, JB. My sister just had surgery to remove Cancer that was caught early. She has 6 weeks of radiation treatments coming up.

WOW! thank you so so much everybody. Can't tell you how much the missus and I appreciate all the support.

We just got back from a pre surgery appointment and so far everyone on her team has been top notch. Mrs. Jim ( she's kind of shy about using her real name) is being treated within the Mass General Brigham Wentworth Douglass hospital system and we are lucky the hospital is only thirty minutes from the house.

I’ve  experienced what you are facing multiple times Jim.  My heart goes out to you and especially to your wife.  Dwight’s comments are so accurate.  You are the covering for your wife. You must take on the role of advocate and keep records of everything.  Waiting for the pathology was almost more than I could tolerate. It is the critical piece of information that will dictate where you both go from there. I don’t mean to over reach Jim, but don’t get caught up in googling every site out there. That process will wear you out and can generate anxiety you don’t need.  Medicine today is so much more advanced that 24 years ago.  The future is bright.  I’ll be lifting you both up in prayer.

Consider it done!

As a cancer survivor myself, the key to getting through this is to keep a positive attitude. If you both keep that brain strong it’ll help heal that body.

Thoughts and good vibes coming your way.
You must take care of yourself, so you can take care of Mrs Jim. Try and remember, she can feel  your mood and attitude too.
A lot of information is going to get dumped in your lap, and it will be a lot to process. Cancer centers are real good about giving you hard copies on what going on. I carried a notebook to take notes, plus it gave me a place to doodle will waiting. You’ll do alot of that, just waiting was frustrating.

PM, if ya need  to chat.
