This is the time of year where I wear swimming trunks while fishing. Get on the water before daylight and by 10am I'm diving in. Lol Mind you our Waters here are very clean and clear and taking the occasional dive allows me on the water much longer when temps are in the 90's. Anyone else take the Nestle plunge ?

I have seen some fluorocarbon labeled as " leader " which always gives me a laugh. Just buy some good quality flouro, I like Sunline Snyper.

I go through a gallon per year of Aerospace 303 UV protectant and use on everything that is rubber, vinyl and plastic...... good stuff.

Definitely try a Spinnerbait if you haven't already. Couple of weeks ago I fished dirty water and caught several on a weightless senko in June bug.

I only throw baby Brush hogs and 1 color, green pumpkin blue flash. Also a big fan of Zoom speed craws on a Shaky head. There was a guy on this forum that posted several 6 - 7lb fish using baby Brush hogs...... Sooner something.

Go to hollow body and squeeze them occasionally when they fill with water. Throw mainly Spro bronze eye.

Was fishing with a guy yesterday that I've not fished with before and learned something simple. Got on the water a little before sunrise and fish were crashing the top. I was throwing a Devils horse and he a WP 90. He was working the WP with 3 erratic jerks and then a short pause similar to the way I work a Devils horse. We both caught a half dozen fish and I learned something new. BTW, I've always been a steady retrieve and maybe 1 pause with a WP.

Shimano Bantam Curado was indestructible.

Use them both but catch more top water fish, at least this year on a Devils horse ?.

Buddy of mine invited me to fish for Snakehead which I excepted. Not my thing but something different. They are UGLY and slimy but he claims they are delicious. Caught on hollow body frog in pads.

@Justinfish agree. Been using original Power Pro since it's introduction and never had a reason to explore.

@MediumMouthBass As great a caster as the SLX is I would be curious as to what rod and bait are you throwing. Also did you adjust the spool tensioner to allow the bait to fall slowly when thumb bar is pressed ?

Last thing I want to do is injure a fish but everytime you set a hook into a fishes mouth, you're leaving behind an injury. Taking the time to unhook a fish and finding the path that the barb left would be much better than ripping and tearing in a haste.

Saw 2 beavers mating this past May. ? Something I've not seen in years past here in VA but am seeing with regularity now is Loons. They are efficient and fast under water.

I snapped a Cherrywood on a hook set back in the early 80's, that's been it. I use to create a wake on a hook set but no longer SWING for the fences. ?

I throw 20lb braid on every baitcaster I own and perfect harmony. SLX best performs with brakes set 3 on 3 off as mentioned.
