Fingers crossed. My fishing buddy may move back nearby.
A good fishing partner really adds to the experience, someone to grab the net. ? I've had the same fishing buddy for over 40 years but he's declining with his health and goes about every other trip. Hope you and your buddy reunites on the water ?

Hi there fellow anglers!
Welcome to Bass Resources.

Road trip prep
Sounds like you're quite prepared. One thing I'll add is make sure all your tires are properly inflated and might even carry a small air compressor. I carry a Viar mini compressor.

Johnson outboard idles high rpm need help
Adjust the idle screw. Previous owner probably couldn't keep it running at low rpms and turned up the idle.

Fostering Sasha ~ again.
Dog lovers are lovers of life and are generally good people......my opinion.

Carolina rig vs jig vs Texas rig…what’s been more productive for you
Waters here are gin clear, finesse worm on Mojo rig does better than C-rig and easier to rig with bobber stops. Jigs are big fish producers prespawn. After the spawn..... T-rig.

Whose shoes...?
You sure that ain't a salt water croc ? WOW ?

braided line
Only thing I'll add is we as fisherman have little quirks that we hold to, gives us confidence. Feels like CrashVector is coming in hot with a dislike for fluorocarbon, understood and may be correct. A flouro leader with slow presentations gives me a little more confidence that what I'm doing will intice a bite. Don't stress, fishing is meant to be relaxing and enjoyable.

rigging a craw to hop
I do better with Shaky head and only throw speed craws and brush hogs. Only negative with Shaky head is I deep hook them occasionally and have to go behind the gill to save them.

changes to bass fishing from one day to another.
LoL never played golf in my life. Regarding bass and their behavior ? I have women figured out better ?

braided line
Been using Power Pro since it's introduction, many years. It stays on my reels for 5 years and yes, it does fade. I'm a braid to flouro leader for everything but moving baits so fade has never been an issue. Never noticed fray.

National Safe Boating Week ~
I was on Philpott lake recently in VA for a week and noticed the same thing. It's a simple and effective piece of equipment that should be madatory. Imo

Broken battery - How to clean up the acid?
Good advice on the cleanup. If you ever plan on using the engine, gonna have to expose of that old fuel, add some non ethanol fuel and hookup some muffs. Having sat that long you'll also want to change the engine oil and lower unit.

Favorite Flipping Soft Plastics for Grass and Hydrilla ?
4 1/2" finesse worms and 3" Paddle tail Keitech 1/16 head have done well in grass and hydrilla.

B-Ball
Gonna be an interesting finals. Heat caught fire in the playoffs knocking off Milwaukee and Boston tonight...... they took the hard road and exceeded. Denver swept LeBron and I have them winning it all because of Miami's small line up against the Joker but Butler is willing this team.

Short rods - when do you use them?
I like a shorter rod for skipping flukes under docks. My dropshot rod is a 6' med light. Look at the rods rating. Growing up we threw everything in our tackle bag on 1 or 2 rods and caught fish. May not be ideal but possible.

Drop Shot Rod and Reel Balance
Balance on slack line feels good but load shifts forward apon working the bait. Med light for DS here.

The worst thing about bass fishing
Fatigue #1 Long drives, Long hours on the water and sun. #2 would be tieing a Alberto knot on the boat.

Nitro Bilge Pump
Guess we all have various practices. I never leave my boat in the water during a storm, simply pull it out and pull the plug. Driving in rain? Pull the plug. Parked in driveway? Pull the plug I fish in light rain often and have yet to eject water via the bilge. In my circumstances the only time the bilge pump would get used is taking on a wave and operation would be manual. On my 3rd bass boat and used the bilge once....... accidently pulled the lanyard out with speed ?

Peg your T-Rig?
If you feel the need to peg a T-rig why not just throw a Shakey head? It's what I do anyway. Throwing at very steep banks, almost vertical where you cast and give plenty of slack, a Shaky head will out perform a T-rig. Imo The weight on a T-rig will pull away from bait and leave you with a mushy hook set. Normal conditions, I've never pegged.

I never use baitcasting reels
Skipping and finesse is where I use exclusively spinning. BUT I do believe baitcasters have there advantages in some cases. Getting a bait moving apon entering the water " Spinnerbaits/buzzbaits " are done much more efficiently with casting gear and the drag system is smoother. If baitcasters were eliminated, wiped of the earth, I'd still fish but I'd miss them.

Whopper Plopper @ Night
Haven't thrown a jitterbug since I started throwing the WP. Better hookup ratio as well. Imo

i can name my SINGLE favorite bass fishing technique. (to help me shop)
If I feel impatient, Spinnerbait above timber #1. When it's time to slow down, give me a Drop-shot or Jackal flickShake.
