  1. Glad to hear that nice fish is still swimming.
  2. Was loading the boat at the ramp yesterday and this young fella was fighting with backlash. He also complained about not being able to rent a boat at this lake I was fishing. Ended up giving the guy my Bass raider, trolling motor and some tackle for the rest of the day. When I went back to the ramp 4 hrs later to pickup the boat he handed me a brand new Abu Garcia ultra Max marred in backlash. Said that he was done with casting gear. Lol I know it's a cheaper reel but I'll mount a quality rod under it and put it to use.
  3. Spinnerbaits and Jigs would be how I'd go about it.
  4. I fish a private farm pond where the owner requires barbless hooks. 7'6 rod med moderate worked great. I felt like I was fly fishing because don't care for anything over 7' but keeping a bent rod prevented lost fish.
  5. We have a lake that's famous for strippers " Smith mountain " , more fisherman pursue them than LM bass. I've never caught one but heard They put up quite the fight. Congrats ?
  6. I saw the 819 pro in Tennessee when I was getting my Lowe. It was black and Orange and I mean a super nice boat. Hope you enjoy it.
  7. This thread is confusing. Gonna grab me a Bud light ?
  8. Gotta make the wife laugh. Something I don't care for is FB and the wife is always putting my fish pics up or our fishing trips. She's very active in the community and I'm an out of sight out of mind kinda guy....... guess there's a balance. Lol
  9. When I bought my Lowe recently, they had several packages to chose from " dealer lot ". Some had the spare, fish finder and some without spare and fish finder but with an upgraded prop. It was all over the place really with some packages including a cover. But if you ordered the boat you could get it exactly how you wanted it. Most tandem axle trailers if not all, come with a spare.

Their baits are affordable and effective but don't know much about the company. The Clunn series Jerkbaits work well for a fraction of the price. They don't have the wobble of a 110 or Spro but I've had good success with them. Have you checked Amazon for specific baits ?
  11. The brake pad usage is next level. Have you checked the rotors ? We live in mountainous terrain and get 5 - 6 years out of brake pads. You may need to keep pads on auto delivery, wow.
  12. You have to be one of the oldest members, hats off. Got my driver's license in 1976 and remember the Esso stations that did that.
  13. I read the entire Bible in between reading your post ?. Just picking on ya' man, that's some beautiful Smallmouth and I'm sure you had a lot of fun, congrats.
  14. I only use straight braid on moving baits so fading isn't an issue. Imo Have never had a regiment that I follow on when to change it, stuff last for many years.
  15. It's driving style. You won't drink a cup of coffee while my wife is driving. It's a nose dive brake applying 5 feet from the stop sign then an aggressive takeoff. I have a big F250 and a lifted Jeep Rubicon, she hates driving them....... harmony.
  16. I like Spro and 6 sense. Like them in square bills as well.
  17. I bought a cheap spare tire and wheel off Amazon $77 and keep it on the back of truck.
  18. Spinnerbaits and Jigs in cover. Buzzbait on top.
  19. He said it was very user friendly but I've heard that before.
  20. Do what I did and have the dealer measure the width and total length of trailer to determine whether a trip is needed.
  21. 10 years later, Lew's claims to have addressed the issue ?
  22. Ran into an avid Crappie fisherman today, super nice guy. We talked about all things fishing and he indicated that his biggest game changer was live scope. I told the guy that I just bought a boat and can live with my Affordable Garmins. Made the huge mistake of hoping on his boat and off to his favorite brush pile full of Crappie......I was blown away. We watched his bait drop on the screen as he stopped it just above the school and then watched fish take the bait. I had no idea that live scope was literally like a video fishing game. Call me slow but until you see it live in action, you won't understand.
  23. We are skipping spring here in VA. Ran AC all week, finding mushrooms, lakes are turning over and bass are hitting top water.
  24. Has all the issues been related to the Mercury ?
