  1. My cousin whom I frequently fish with is 68 and has never thrown a baitcaster, no complaints. My boat will always have a locker full of casting gear.
  2. Yes, bought a 2023 Lowe Stinger 175 few months ago that did not come with a spare, it was optional. This was a single axle trailer.
  3. I'll be honest, when I'm working on a vehicle with those tight spaces and Chinese bolts and bust my knuckles......no children are allowed in my garage. But never the Lords name in vane.
  4. Never used profanity until I got married and had kids.
  5. I've noticed this year that my catches on Jerkbaits and square bills have been predominantly from those without rattles. Not sure why , perhaps some insight on the subject. The water I fish is gin clear and just today switched from a Jerkbait with rattles to one without and started catching. Has been the same with square bills. Overcast and water temp 53*. I have absolutely no idea why one over the other.
  6. I caught my 1st Striper recently and the fight was insane. Wasn't as big as yours but wow. Congrats ?
  7. I use cheap Berkeley Vanish as backing for both spinning and casting.
  8. I got something that will blur the vision of any unwanted guests ? On a serious note, all the Google shots of my house is roof, not on an angle where you can see in the garage.
  9. Nice ?
  10. Very sad. Seems like more and more incidents with boating, water sports and kayaking being such popular activities. Thinking flags and bright colors should be enforced for smaller craft, would certainly help.
  11. I gotta ask, you did rotate the head for bow mount ? If you give to much thrust while turning sharp, one side will lift up at the mount otherwise I've not had any issues. I also have the battery, tackle and cooler all in the stern to balance the weight.
  12. Shimano SLX Lew's LFS ABU Revo And pay a little extra for a quality rod and your set.
  13. All my Dobyns are casting but can't imagine any dropoff for spinning. Dobyns fury is a standard hard to beat. Imo
  14. Rivers go down fast this time of year, you'll be posting pics in a week ?
  15. Losing a family dog completely devastates the wife and I for a lengthy period, wish it weren't so. Sorry A-Jay for the loss of a beautiful animal, really.
  16. The perfect choice for the 10e. Imo
  17. This i can certainly agree with. The only reason I carry 12 rods and reels on the boat is I don't like to retie while fishing.
  18. My wife has a business trip for a week in California, right on Huntington Beach. She booked 4 airline tickets, herself and our 2 daughters ( 25 and 30 ). The 4th ticket got immediately cancelled when I weighed my options. Sitting on Huntington Beach for a week ? Or unmolested Bass fishing for a week ? Enjoy the trip honey ?

Here in NW Virginia I've caught bass on several different baits. Biggest fish on swim jig. Most fish on a Spinnerbait. And several on square bill, dropshot, Keitech on 1/8 underspin, flukes and Mojo rig. Heading down your way for a week at Philpott lake.

Frog gigging was a big event growing up as was catfishing. My fondest memories were gigging during the bluegill spawn. We'd be up in the shallows over their beds and when the spotlight came on it sent them into a frenzy. They would crash into the bottom of the boat and several would land inside the boat. I haven't been in 40 years.
  21. No caught it from lake Anna, in VA
  22. This thread is still going on after I gave the most intellectual response yet easy to understand. I'll repeat, " if the cows are lying down, don't go fishing". ?
  23. Zman Bullzeye 1/8 in bluegill.
  24. My baits are moving before the soft plastics come out. Spinnerbaits, swim jigs, underspins, Jerkbaits and square bills. I'm certain a Senko will catch in colder water temps, I just prefer moving baits.

Surrounding yourself with optimistic and morally sound people is a recipe for harmony. Yes, I've always been optimistic and very slow to anger but it starts in the home. Wife is the most laid back human I've ever met and it rubs off.
