  1. Then youre missing out Mend It is the best thing since monofilament line
  2. Finesse is usually used to describe the profile of the jig not the hook and weedguard that appears to be case with the jig you linked above as it looks like a standard jig hook to me
  3. You should be fine for a bit with 66 yds ... 50 yds is an really long cast and bass arent known to make drag testing runs with that said if you are not using swivels near your bait ... one or two good snagged lures and youll be casting into your backing
  4. 3/8 + trailer is a fairly heavy bait which i would personally rather throw on baitcasting gear but to answer your question it will work and will definitely not damage the rod as far as line, on a 2500 spinning reel, 10lb fluoro would be my upper limit
  5. What techniques are you trying to add? I think thats the best place to start ...
  6. i finally tried 832 this weekend ... and boy is she nice!
  7. you can fit a 2pc just as good as you can under the rear seat of any truck!
  8. Might also want to make sure your cap is riding on the threads properly and tightening all the way down. Ive seen those get cross threaded quite a bit.
  9. I never tie to the holes themselves but i always insert my line into one then crank to get it to go around. Not sure if thats its purpose buts thats its purpose to me ?
  10. I dont doubt it. I myself fish YZH mainly. My argument was that if your only goal is invisibility you should go for pure fluorocarbon
  11. The description of the product is no different from other fluoro coated copolymers like Pline CX and I doubt the technology used to produce it is any better. True flourocarbon IS the leader material of choice for line shy fish for a reason ... no reason to experiment
  12. What a difference a month makes ... picked up a Curado K for $115 last week
  13. I found this interesting. I actually like that the line diameters are different as this further highlights differences.
  14. H2O Express Rods and SLX Rods @ Academy Not sure if this applies to all Academy stores but it seems the rods that show the promotion online are 50% off in store even if you dont buy the reel. Just picked up another Ethos for $35.00
  15. If your concern is the weight of the rod, I would throw it on the rod with the line you have. You might not want to fish it that way but you can get an idea as to how the rod will handle the drag of the buzzbait.
  16. 6'8" MH All Star Classic (older model), Curado K 6.2:1, YZH 15lb most importantly ... Cavitron
  17. I would raise hell and tell them that I bought other stuff in preparation for the trolling motor which I cant return ... odds are you can at least get a gift card out of them I immediately bought two E6X casting rods online but cancelled my order after handling them in store the next morning. Might just be me but something felt off. The cork was excellent but the house brand Ethos HD rod felt much better to me.
  18. Yeah it sounds like youre familiar/comfortable with this setup and know what youre doing honestly you just need an SV spooled reel in your life at this point
  19. Why superline hoook on mono? The purpose of superline hooks is so that they wont bend under the reduced stretch of braid ... Go to a thinner hook
  20. Rod has to match drag has to match line in this case the rod isnt breaking and the drag isnt slipping ... so the line is the weak link
  21. not sure what the right answer here is to be honest but from what i can see either ... a. get heavier lb test mono b. go to braid c. go to baitcaster where you can thumb the spool on hookset but still keep a looser drag
  22. way to copy me but smarter ... ?
  23. How are you losing the fish? line snaps? If thats the case loosen your drag ...
