Yum Christie craws
i've thrown them on chatterbaits with moderate success--instead of texas rig try one on a shaky head, they do work on tennessee river lakes. as well as zoom ultravibe speed craw

Best knot for Braid to Fluoro leader
Double uni is the easiest to tie on the water and i've never had any breakage issues. 10lb braid to 10lb fluoro, twist both lines 10x and pull tight. add a drop of superglue for extra confidence

Talk about some jerks...
I have several old smith wick floaters that still catch fish, I typically put a suspend dot on them to keep them down or work exceptionally fast so they don’t rise too much. Been on a 6th sense jerkbait the last few weeks. They are easy to cast, and keep the fish buttoned up! Did have a mishap landing a 5 1/2 yesterday. The tail of the jerkbait was stuck on her outside cheek and the remainder in her mouth(this particular jerkbait has easily caught 125+ fish over the last two weeks)

Calling Curado K owners - Lighter baits and worm gear
curado k is good for cranking, at least a DT6 anything lighter you'll have issues, especially when the winds starts kicking. I bought a daiwa CR80 and it does GREAT for the small squarebills, little johns, etc

Skirted Jigs for Smallies
Catch the hell out of smallmouth here in east tn throwing 3/4 oz football jigs. There is a time and place for everything but the fall football head bite is outstanding. i catch a lot more stroking the jig over the rocks rather than dragging it. When the smallies are in that 20-25 ft range it is tough to beat a big jig. Find the plateaus on your main lake points where they school up, cast over them & hop it through. Liable to get your arm broke....they always work better for me in clear water lakes as opposed to dirty or stained

Nasty weather fishing
this big guy came off a slow rolled chatterbait sexy shad monday afternoon in 49.8 degree water, spinnerbait is a good choice. I wouldn't worry so much about your air temp, if it has recently been warm for the last week or so your water temp wont change that drastically overnight from one cold front. the fish that have already moved shallow should be still shallow or very close

Nasty weather fishing
i would focus on that warmer water area first. Yeah buddy, they work great

Nasty weather fishing
i would do some of both. if water clarity allows it throw a ned or put a TRD tubez. I would fish your main points & rip rap. Overcast should bring those fish out & if the rain isnt horribly cold the fish should move up. Does the water temp change around the power plant? I did a quick scan and navionics and would probably start downlake. If it's too stained down there go back up towards the dam and find clearer water. Hop around a silver buddy, or gold buddy if the water is stained

More Diversity in Bass Lures
lol i know we've talked about it before the jackhammer is such a waste of money. they eat the original just as well. whopper ploppers suck!
-
Proven baits that don't produce, perhaps.
Whopper plopper. Cast, cast, cast, and cast it some more to no avail. Pick up the spook and get blown up on immediately....
