  1. We went to Puerto Rico for 2 weeks in March so I’m done until next March. My wife on the other hand is going to FL this Sat for a week and will probably do it again in Sept
  2. I wrap some electrical tape over the hook so I just have the hole to put the hook through
  3. I use these https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B06Y57ZDTJ?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_title
  4. Sorry to hear! watch the FB Marketplace and Craigslist ads
  5. Yikes but what kind of blade is super sharp? I need a new set
  6. Ok that’s even better. Take the job and enjoy it?
  7. I think it’s great but…. you definitely won’t see your girls play with the new job
  8. I have a 6’6” Shimano Curado medium from early 90’s when the line first came out. It’s a great rod for jerkbaits and rattletraps. Only problem is the foregrip cork is splitting when you tighten it up to hold the reel
  9. Yeah it’s when I’m casting and use two hands that I don’t care for the split
  10. Reviving an old post because I was thinking a lot about this lately. Because most of my rods are older they are full cork/foam grips. Well I bought a St Croix Victory and Legend Tournament casting rods last fall and finally used them a couple weeks ago. Wow I don’t like split grips. They are jus so uncomfortable for me to cast. What’s your feeling on this?
  11. Sorry but I don’t understand why. I need all the help/hooks I can get
  12. I was the guy that would have black topped my whole yard if I was allowed. Now I like riding around my little 1/2 acre lawn. No phones no computers. It gives me a chance to breathe
  13. I use one of these. I’m towing a kayak trailer that has little tongue weight. This quiets that ball/receiver chatter down to nothing
  14. I forgot about the ned rig. Nothing on that
  15. During my bad time of depression I just didn’t care or want to go fishing. I sold 10 3700 boxes of tackle for $125. Very next spring I decided I wanted to start again so I had to replace everything all over again. So unless you need the money for something important don’t sell it yet
  16. Hmm maybe that’s why I’m not getting good hooksets
  17. GTN-NY replied to Mobasser's topic in Fishing Tackle
I’m really liking a big straw hat now. Good airflow to keep my bald head cool and unburned. Also covers my neck and ears.
  18. Does anyone use the mustad rings? https://www.tacklewarehouse.com/Mustad_Wacky_O-Ring_Replacement_Pack_25pk/descpage-MWO.html I just tried them the other day. First thing I noticed is the worm doesn’t spiral on its way down. It just went straight. Thoughts on these rings?
  19. Oh one other thing Luke that I started doing was exercising. It’s something I’ve never really done much of but now that I’m older and getting weaker. When I started noticing weight loss and my wife said I was looking better it made me feel better about myself
  20. I guess I’ve suffered from a little depression for a long time but it really kicked in when my son who also suffered from depression, drugs, alcohol murdered his girlfriend 4yrs ago and is in max prison for the rest of my life. Then my best friend that I was in some sort of daily contact with died coming up on 2 yrs ago. I started drinking to much, not going anywhere or doing anything. Last year I went fishing 3 times. Last Nov I decided that was enough. I pretty much quit drinking. Only have a drink when I’m out with people. Life is better. I can still go down that rabbit hole but at least I can see it now so it doesn’t last long. Find something little to do that makes you happy and gives you a little self worth. I started helping a friend rehab a old house. I go work when I want on no schedule Good luck!
  21. Ordered two of these Weds morning and I got them today!! These are very nice shirts!!
  22. I have these in short and long sleeved. They are lightweight and loose fitting https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00AB0IQV4?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_title&th=1
  23. First look for used. Better bang for your buck. Do you like to stand while fishing? I first bought a used Jackson Liska. Nice kayak but I couldn’t stand comfortably while fishing. I traded that for a original Jackson Big Rig. Very very stable for standing but it’s heavy
  24. 1st thing in the morning start, I’ll make about 10 casts with a topwater then I grab my jig rod. Middle of the day start, I’ll make 10 casts with a spinnerbait before grabbing my jig rod. Basically I live or die with the jig edit: of course there’s 8 other rods on the kayak that are rigged and ready that will probably go untouched
