What Kayak Fishfinder Screen Size Do You Have?
I had the same problem with the hook5. I couldn’t see the screen with my old eyes. I moved up to a Garmin 7. The unit seems big but I can see it

Your Moron Moments
Oh man I’ve got a good one for you that just happened today. Finally a beautiful day, temps in the low 80s with a light wind. Perfect day to get the kayak out for the 1st time this year to make sure everything is ready for the first tournament next Sat. Trailered the kayak down to the local lake to launch out of the outlet. This is where they have the flood gates and they are open so there some current. The outlet has a dock at the bottom of a 10’ hill that I usually tie up to while I rig everything up but a mom and her kids are there fishing. I didn’t want to get in their way so I left the kayak up top while I rigged up. Made the last trip back to the car for the trolling motor and on the way back I see a nice looking kayak floating down the outlet. It took me a few seconds before I realized that no one was in it and it was my kayak. Some how it launched itself. It must have been the last thing I put in it that was just enough weight to let it slide down after I walked away. I ran up to the waters edge and started taking shoes, socks, hat and everything out from my pockets. I started wading in until it was mid chest then started swimming. I suck at swimming! I finally got to it to drag it back. Of course there was lots of people around fishing, walking and watching. I remember yelling that someone better be videotaping and better send it to me. Someone yelled you’re going on Tik Tok. They left before I could ask them to send it to me. That water was cold. 53° and man did it hurt. After getting it back I finished rigging and went out fishing. On the way out of the outlet quite a few people were laughing and asking how the water was. oh and no fish

Eating trash fish...
When I was a kid my Dad use to gut and remove head then bake bass and pike. Pike was always my favorite. With rising food prices I might need to supplement the groceries with some fish. Guess I need to buy the supplies to gut, clean, prepare my catches. I haven’t kept a fish in over 20 something years any recommendations on how to keep fish when you’re on a kayak?

Eating trash fish...
Are you filleting them? Now I just need to find some bigger bluegills. Most waters around here have lots of small panfish

Eating trash fish...
I don’t eat any fish because I don’t know how to cook them. How are you cooking them on a grill?

Eating trash fish...
Bullhead were my grandmothers favorite. She’d just gut them, skin them and fry them in butter. I always thought it was weird that they have red meat

FedEX gives me heartburn.
I’ve had boxes dented, ripped open but very seldom damaged except one time. UPS driver rang the bell to ask if he should bother leaving this box. 6’ box that took a right hand turn in the middle of it. Guess what it was

Tackle Setup Questions
I’m bass fishing from a kayak so I already have to many setups so I don’t need more. I just need to see if I’m matching up the right techniques to the rod/reel. What’s your thoughts? Thanks

Anyone have experience with telescopic casting rods?
I have a 7’ All Star MH jigging rod that compacts down to 5’. It’s a great rod and easy to carry in the car. Also had a couple flipping sticks that telescoped that were good also. I wish more companies would make them again. Now I have a 8’ flipping stick that’s a pain in the A to transport

Contemplating a kayak
Very very true. I bought a Jackson Big Rig for the stability. I like to stand while fishing. It’s 85lbs empty but I have a trailer so no big deal. Added a big crate. Holds 6 3700 boxes + 3 more under the seat. Rod tubes for 10 rods. 7” Depth finder and battery added. Bow mount trolling motor and battery added Now it weighs 150lbs and it’s a pain to launch when there is no launch ramp

Moving Mom
Nice CC! I moved my Mom into our house 4 years ago. She’s 96 now. Still going pretty good. So much less stress now that she isn’t living on her own. She only lived a mile away but if she didn’t answer the phone I’d go running right over. I now also only have my house to maintain. Only problem is she tries to make me feel guilty for going fishing. “Greg don’t you have work to do!”
