Sorry I misread your inquiry. You're correct in that finding components is hit and miss these days. I shot competitively for many years so I'm used to keeping many years worth of everything on hand to avoid dry spells like the current circumstances. Good luck.

I have a nice collection of 10mm pistols. Starline brass is the best, IMO. Google and buy direct from the company. Hard to go wrong with .40 Hornady XTP 180 gr projectiles. When available I use Zero .40 180 gr JHP available direct from Roze Distribution, Zero's direct sales website. I load 10mm on a Dillon 550B with a dedicated Dillon shell head and a Redding competition seating and a Lee factory crimp die, in addition to the Dillon sizing and seating dies. Highly recommended if you have a Dillon reloader. The 10mm is a reloading caliber...versatility and economy make it so.
  3. Anyone interested can find an online document with info of all Luhr-Jensen crankbaits. Can't post the URL without moderator approval but just Google: Luhr-Jensen crankbait diving chart lets catch fish. Thanks to mods for clearing the URL post above ?
  4. Anyone interested can find an online document with info of all Luhr-Jensen crankbaits here. https://www.yumpu.com/en/document/read/6153621/29-crankbait-depth-chart-lets-catch-fish
  5. According to the Luhr-Jensen chart, the trolling version depth is 10 ft. on 10# mono, the Hot Lips Express T.A. (casting model) is 11 ft., also on 10# mono. The trolling version has a straight lip, the casting a bent tip.
  6. Grass Ninja worked great on my old Motorguide, reduced fouling by vegetation to an amazing extent here in the Atchafalaya salad factory. Just switched to an Ultrex and after it's maiden voyage, imagine I'll be ordering a Grass Ninja for it as well.
  7. FWIW, I ordered a Daiwa SV TW 103HS from Tackle Warehouse on 1/12: site said it was in stock. Received an email that the order was being processed and wasn't scheduled to ship until 1/19. Definitely the slowest order fulfillment I've had from Tackle Warehouse thus far, even in the midst of COVID. Very disappointing.
  8. Based on past results, if I could only have one worm bait, it would be a Zoom trick worm in Emerald Blue.
  9. Don't have the patience to fish real sloooow. Makes fishing boring for me. Fortunately I get to avoid fishing the coldest months, spending December through January bird hunting behind German shorthairs or stalking wild hogs, nothing boring about that ?. When I start fishing again, the spawn is underway.
  10. As someone who grew up 20 miles from the Canadian border, I always affirmed the notion that if you can't spit into Canada, you ain't in upstate New York. ?
  11. My first outing with my new Okuma swimbait rod and my new Black Dog G2 Shellcracker resulted in just one bite, but it was a 5.69 pound largemouth. ?
  12. Have mostly Lew's rods and only have lost one insert. A rod builder 20 miles away replaced just the insert for $5 while I waited.
  13. I have a four TP1s and like them a lot: if you liked your Mach 2 you should really enjoy a TP1. My MHFs nearly always have a spinnerbait and chatterbait attached, and my M Moderate a crankbait and I can't think of anything about them I don't like. They are always in the rotation when I gear up for a fishing trip. The only reason to the other MHF stays home on occasion is I usually keep a buzzbait attached and I don't always fish buzzbaits.
  14. After a series of browser resets, cache clearing, etc., the problem persisted so I gave up on it. Then, low and behold, after a cache and history clearing for another reason, days later, it now works properly. Sometimes you just have to be grateful something works right, even if you're not sure why. Appreciate the help, Glenn.
  15. My apologies but I posted this possible site bug in a new thread (which the moderators can delete). Since the site upgrade, I've run into this bug. When in View New Content, I was exploring the difference in Expand and Collapse the listings. Once I chose Collapse, I could not switch back to Expand: selecting Expand resulted in no change. Clearing cache made no difference. The browser is Firefox 82.0.2, Mac OS 10.13.16. The site rework has created a much cleaner interface. Kudos!

  17. I just wish my German shorthairs would also point bass. ?
  18. Something that is getting lost in all the give and take, especially by those who have never cracked the covers of the actual book, is that the book focuses heavily on the biology of the bass and uses that biology as a jumping off point to hypothesize how a bass's actions/reactions/behavior could be affected by it's biological makeup, with experiments based on how it's underlying biological structure might ultimately influence behavior. The biological underpinnings of a bass's senses was fascinating to me and the reason I found the book worth the money and the time to read. Whether one agrees with the experimentation and its interpretation is one thing, the underlying structure of this fish's nervous system, vision, sense of smell and vibration would seem to be rather straightforward science.
  19. Depends on the body of water. One lake I like to fish has some big bass so I'm willing to put a day into bigger baits for that 5 or 6+ pounder. I may be throwing big buzzbaits or big swimbaits...if I catch anything, it's over 4 pounds. Others, I go for more bites, smaller baits and smaller fish.
  20. Rib cage of a (long deceased) deer.
  21. Truly loved her Emma Peel character in The Avengers when I was but a wee lad.
  22. Excellent news! I sometimes think hurricanes target Louisiana at the end of summer just to make us appreciate that essential AC once the juice begins flowing. I've documented the struggles of utility crews after major hurricanes and those guys more than earn their pay and our heartfelt appreciation.
  23. I think you could definitely research biology (how the creature's brain, nervous system and senses are constructed) and even certain behaviors in how its biology determines how it relates to its environment in your lab (or barn). The dissections will be a little messy though. But seriously, the author makes a better case for the science behind his studies than I can or will here. Anybody who is interested (and can lay their hands on a copy) should give it a read and make up their own mind. SPOILER ALERT: Some commonly held assumptions about bass aren't necessarily supported by the creature's biological makeup and resulting sensory response to it's environment, based on the studies by the author and other academic researchers whom he cites. It's a fascinating read, a Bass Biology 101 course if you will: since it's out of print I pulled out my credit card and ordered an admittedly expensive copy for my personal education.
