  1. Here's how it should look once installed.
  2. The cylinder does support the trolling motor's weight, reducing the effort in deployment. It connects to the support frame in a very specific manner: check the installation instructions for the correct way to do this. It is shipped disconnected and not connected until the rest of the installation is complete.
  3. The spray alone is higher than most of the water I fish ?
  4. My 2005 G3, pictured recently in its native element ?
  5. I got a Daiwa Tatula SV TW [TTUSV103HS] in 7.1:1 for the Fury 705CB I recently purchased. Spooled with Sunline Sniper 14#, I've been exceptionally pleased, especially considering the price of the rod. Casts the lure weights you're considering extremely well.
  6. As a longtime owner of Schumacher chargers, it is dangerous not to monitor the charging. They have a high output and rely on their circuit board to monitor level of charge. If the circuit faults, which I have seen on numerous occasions, it will read a fully charged battery at only 70 percent or so, and continue to pump in voltage. Therein lies the problem. You can correct the fault by unplugging the charger and then plugging it back it: when you do so, it will normally show 100 percent charge and cut the output. By not following my own advice — I was preoccupied with finding a replacement online for a baitcaster that went overboard that day — I went out late one night to check the progress on charging the motor Optima in my G3 only to find three feet of flames rising from the motor compartment. I was lucky to discover and put out the fire before it finished melting my fuel tank or the boat, and my travel trailer next to it, might have been a total loss. As it was it took many hours of my work and then a pro mechanic to repair all the damage to the tune of over $4,000 dollars. Now I have a low output (3 bank, 5 amp for each bank) charger installed in the boat but I still can't bear to leave it unattended while charging.
  7. Bluegill Siebert Fogey with green Rage Swimmer works for me.
  8. I always have a rod with a chatterbait tied on but sometimes forgo the spinnerbait. Chatterbaits have saved many a skunked day for me. Like throwing chatterbaits so much I just I bought a Dobyns 736 glass chatterbait rod and on its first outing collected two of the three bass I landed yesterday, on a bluegill patterned Siebert Fogey.
  9. Chatterbait, by a muddy-water bayou country mile.
  10. Good to go now ?
  11. Glenn, tried to enter for the first time after receiving your email but it wouldn't accept my entry...gave me the "You only can enter once a day" dialogue. Clearing cache didn't help ?
  12. I use Trilene XL on my ultralight spinning setup. It was spooled on there years ago and still performs perfectly.
  13. Can't remember ever breaking a spinnerbait, including Terminators, knock on wood.
  14. Suicide Shad here, been working very well with Owner underspins.
  15. I've always reached U.S. techs when calling Humminbird with questions or for support.
  16. FedEx is working a lot better for you than for me. I've had a FedEx package sitting in Indianapolis for the last four days that is only going to Tallahassee FL from Louisiana. Despite COVID, despite problems ice and winter storms, the shipping industry as a whole has a long way to go on customer service and delivery fulfillment these days.
  17. Woodford Reserve, even if you have to pay a couple bucks over your $35 budget. I can get it around here for around $32.50 - 35.00. Kinda funny posting about my favorite bourbon when I'm sitting here sipping my second martini ?

Life member. Long time competitive shooter and avid hunter, especially birds. Organization is definitely not perfect but normally represents my interests well, just like the many conservation organizations I gladly support.
  19. Added Surfix bunk slides yesterday in less than 15 minutes in the parking lot of the boat launch and they are incredibly slick. Very easy to winch the boat into place but I needed to remember to either engage the ratchet on the winch or keep the boat in gear under power when loading. They went on right over the worn carpeting that would have needed replacement. The company provided a custom length for my upper 3 ft. bunks. I have an older aluminum G3 and the company does say that they are more likely to scratch the gelcoat on fiberglass hulls than carpet. Everything has it's compromises but overall I'm pleased with this product: http://www.surfixinc.com/surfix_trailer_bunkslides.html
  20. Wondering the same thing. I bought one recently and find it's as close to perfect as anything I've ever fished.
  21. Got to be a bit careful pushing 'em in. Soft mud gave way once and I ended up following it into the drink.
  22. Not KVD, but Palomar works for me on everything, too, Catt. No knot failures since I switched to it a few years back. Ain't broke so I ain't fixing it ?

I've lost count of all the cyclical ammo/reloading shortages caused by one thing or another that I've weathered. Eventually you understand the best approach is "Buy when cheap and stack 'em deep."
