Ike on the move?!
Makes for good theater...which creates branding that is good for building a career around.

This irritates me
Wanton waste of a game fish/bird/animal is a ticketable violation here in Louisiana...and should be.

I don’t understand square bills lately
I use a higher rod tip to decrease the amount of dive so the SB runs a little higher in the water column when I'm concerned about hanging up. Something to consider.

Schooling bass baits
I always have a Suicide Shad on an underspin tied on. Works for singles or when you're lucky enough to run into a school busting shad. I'm with Catt that you can't count on finding 'em, but if you're lucky enough to be in the right place at the right time, I'm happy catching the small schoolers until the event subsides. Last one I found was over in less than 10 minutes but it was my only 11 bass day this year.

Who does any kind of competition shooting?
Longtime USPSA Chief Range Officer and NRA range officer, shot USPSA, IDPA, GSSF, 3-gun, tactical carbine, 600-yard rifle. Concentrated on sporting clays for a few years and won a couple of state class championships and made the NSCA regional team one year (but with lessons, shells and entry fees, sporting clays is an expensive proposition long-term). The photo above was from a state IDPA match where I shot Pistol Caliber Carbine with this AR-9 I built (Yup, the stage was shot while sitting in a boat, complete with tackle box). With hunting dogs and bass fishing, competitive shooting has taken the back seat for the last few years, but I'm starting to get the itch to take part again, though on a more limited basis.

Post a photo a day!
Proof that, if anyone had any doubts, ounce for ounce, bluegill are the meanest thing that swims ? This colorful little fella hit a 6-in. SK Cutr worm.

Deer testing positive for covid antibodies
They're probably all vaccinated ?

Swimming worm question
If I plan on swimming a trick (straight tail) type worm, I tie to a swivel then attach the worm via a leader of 10 inches or so.

So Yall Want To Learn Toledo Bend?
Apparently your "miss" days on TB are equivalent to the best of my "hit" days elsewhere in South Louisiana ?

Any interest in trapping?
Yup, no one's going to ask for seconds of pulled whistle pig ?

In my best imitation Crocodile Dundee that's-not-a-knife voice: "That's not a hog...THIS is a hog!" ?

Hiking and Altitude
Years back I used to enjoy escaping Louisiana August for two weeks to Ouray, Colorado, going from living near sea level to a town at 8,000 feet, then hikes to 13,000 feet. Always required a day to acclimate to the elevation, then business as usual.

Do you guys seal the cork on new rods?
Nope. Small potatoes.

Everybody was fishing yesterday in Lake Verret, Louisiana. For the record, I got one more bass that it did along this stretch of shoreline. It must have been very comfy because water temp was 95!

Line conditioner users
Amen to that! Every spool gets a refresh before each outing. It does make a difference. FWIW, I use Sunline Sniper on every reel that doesn't carry braid.

Artificial Craw Colors vrs real crawfish colors
Maybe the equivalent of what's going on in a bass's mind, put in human words: "I'm hungry. It's moving, so it's food. I can catch it. If I don't like it, I'll spit it out." ?

My old Lab going to heaven today...
Sorry for your loss, but the sadness is tempered by the memories you will always keep of the full and happy life he shared with you.

Dobyns Fury and Colt question - replacing and need input
I picked a Fury 705CB for the majority of the uses you listed for a 703 and have been very impressed, especially for the price.

Simple question. HOPEFULLY simple answer
Sorry about the bad intell. GaryH went right to the source ?. Which transducers fit/networking issues/sharing transducers/what-with-what/etc. gets pretty complicated for my feeble brain. For that reason, I just call HB tech service and ask exactly what I need to do to accomplish what I want to do. Saves me a whole bunch of head hurt ?

Simple question. HOPEFULLY simple answer
If I recall correctly, Helix G2N units other than the Helix 7 will: it's a limitation only of the Helix 7 G2N.
